Thanks for this video!! New rider here on a grom clone, already ready for a new bike even though I’ve been riding for 2days around the house - today is the first day I take it to work and ride on real roads! Still trying to get the hang of not stalling at lights but with more practice I’ll get it! Keep the videos coming! Cant learn enough 😁😁 want to be a safe rider and for a long time - dont think I see myself in a car ever again 😅❤️
ОтветитьLove trail braking learnt from you. I am in the uk and when I post on some sites about this technique I get criticised by all the advance riders esp ex police. I practice all you say and I never get scared no more. It’s right scared once on a ride and it’s onward progress is blighted. I used to hate showing my brake light to riders behind me but at least I feel safe. I have even been caught up at junctions and told I shouldn’t be braking in the bends. True that was taught on my advance course and the diminishing point but I prefer trail braking and wide axis approach. Thank you for making me feel so much safer
ОтветитьI ride MTB, but some of the points are similar to cornering, and another life saver for me is to LOOK at where I want to exit. I almost fell into a cliff when I rolled downhill that had gone wrong.
When people panic, they helplessly look at the object they are about to crash in.
Thanks!
ОтветитьBeen riding for over 50 years but still learning. These videos are great.
ОтветитьThank you for covering everything. Finally someone
ОтветитьForget the video… cute pup😂😂. Jk real informative, and I appreciate each second
ОтветитьThis is such a great video! I crashed a few weeks ago because I entered the bend too fast, fixated on a target, found gravel on the bend when it was too late, and then crashed into the guardrail. I can picture every second of that crash, and this video just taught me a billion things I did wrong. Will never make the same mistakes on my new bike again. Subscribe earned. Thank you so much!
ОтветитьI wonder how many people crashed because of this horrible video lol
ОтветитьGreat video!!!
ОтветитьAlso, why only say use just the front brake to slow down, BOTH brakes should always be used to slow down and stop, unless you are performing low speed (parking lot, U-turns, etc.) turns, then you need to use only rear brake.
ОтветитьThe MSF does not teach to continue to accelerate through the corner but to slow into the corner, maintain entry through the corner until you see the exit of the corner to start to roll on the throttle.
ОтветитьPlanning on getting a bike, when it comes to “pushing” on the handlebars am I turning the handlebar very slightly, or am I pushing it down as the name suggests. Sorry for the dumb question
ОтветитьWhen pressing the break while leaning, do you also need to press the clutch lever?
ОтветитьThank you so much for this brilliant video - and fantastic teaching too! ✨️❤👌
ОтветитьWell, I'm really suprised that You have so little subs. Extremely well explained, simplified and without "time wasters". Next to FortNine You will be my next favourite lads from USA.
Best regards from Poland ✌️
Looks like a multistrada
ОтветитьI have a side street that I take to get on a double 6 lane hwy......I often run this wide.....should I be entering this in first gear? I do have to come to a comlete stop, make sure traffic is clear before proceeding. There are no lights just stop sign.
ОтветитьIdk about the US but in Switzerland they teach you to ride corners exactly like this. IF you don't ride corners like this during your exam with your expert, you'll fail.
ОтветитьWhat is the proper head position in a corner - leaning along with your body/bike, or staying straight up no matter how much your body/bike is leaning?
ОтветитьI came back here because I needed a refresher heheh thanks again! 😅
ОтветитьWell presented! Advice every rider needs to hear and hear often!
ОтветитьSO VERY HELPFUL!
Thank you 😅
Idk, they teach me in riding school to always brake with both brakes, never just one.
ОтветитьWhat is dragging the brake
ОтветитьMild criticism, maybe out of context. It is sometimes dangerous to enter a curve from as far outside as possible. We have tons of sharp corners with tons of truck traffic. If I enter a really sharp right hand corner from near that double line, I am in the path of that truck that crossed the double line. Big trucks in tight corners often have to run wide to keep the rear tandems on the road. Then some just can’t hold a lane. I get over as far as I feel comfortable given the circumstances.
ОтветитьLike they say in the world of cars straight roads are for fast cars and bendy roads are for fast drivers
ОтветитьHis videos are better than the MSF course.
ОтветитьThis clip is very helpful, I have been out of the motorcycle game for 20+ years and am getting back into it. Seeing clips like this helps the knowledge return.
ОтветитьA great educational video thanks.
Do you have advice for coming
across loose gravel on a corner 🤔 this is my biggest fear when riding.
Many thanks for the informative video. Used to be a biker some 30 years ago, and now when the kids are grown ups and all that, I decided to buy a bike again. Ended up with a Kawa 900 GPSr, witch is kind of a monster bike to me, allthough its more than 30 years old now. Thanks to your lesson here I suddenly feel much more confident as a "born again motorcycle rider". Again, many thanks!
ОтветитьI never knew that I was doing this in the back of my mind. The only reason why I don't push myself to lower angels of attack is that I don't wanna be the a hole who causes problems on the road. Now I appreciate dad's instructions even though I never understood them. Shout-out to all the amazing Dad's out there. ❤
ОтветитьCounter Steering 🙂
ОтветитьThanks for clarifying that accelerating troughout the turn is stupid.
Ответить🖤✨
ОтветитьI was thinking, “That looks like I-15 south.” I recently moved here and just realized you’re right by me. Great video! I’m a new rider and needed these tips.
ОтветитьSlow, look, press, and roll needs to be banished from new rider courses, as it simply sets up new riders with a deadly habit of thinking that they need to always judge their speed perfectly before entering a corner.
Teaching trail braking in all beginner riding courses will without question save lives.
Whenever you say we should brake, do you mean just front brake or rear brake? I thought rear brake is usually a no go on turns but should you drag it at least??
ОтветитьMuch appreciated lesson. Theoritical knowledge attained, time to apply these things on my new 450sr. Ride safe everyone! 🏍️💪
ОтветитьNow I'm really confused. I've been told to push where I want to go all the way through the corner (counter steer all the way through the corner) but this guy seems to be saying that you counter steer to lean the bike over and then turn the handle bars for example right to go right.
ОтветитьAll the key points mentioned here should be incorporated into every single motorcycle license exam. When I got my licence 30 years ago, there wasn’t a single requirement for demonstrating command of essential skills beyond stopping. Turning riders lose on public roads without understanding these life saving skills is crazy to me. Running wide in corner can get you killed if you meet a car while doing it.
ОтветитьGreat tips! Thank you.
ОтветитьRiding since 1986.
All great advise!
Cheers from Ontario 🇨🇦
Good information and well presented. Awesome job. Even though I have ridden for many years, I still go to a refreshing course every few years. To see if any new information is out, and meet chicks. Yes, I know what a woman is.
ОтветитьThis is very good info. In my case I enjoy more the feeling of acceleration rather than going constantly fast, so this way of handling corners would actually be more fun. Will definitely save this to watch when I get a bike (I'm still practicing at an academy with their bikes to get my license)
ОтветитьExcellent video, very well presented, thanks!
ОтветитьThanks a lot. Very important 💪🏿
