Hynix djr is fun, recently i just bought SR x 4 ddr4 oc for fun , im impressed this under occt heavy memory stress test dimm temperature below 42c ,my package power reach 226watt
I would recommend for those people who wants to save money on memory ram, hynix djr is a good choice for 4 sticks
The price is not problem I think. You can buy oem hynix djr 2x16gb 2 rank and radiators like freezemod or ek, like I did. It costs me $88.. I have 2 dimm board and can't buy cheap patriot viper 4x8gb b-die or HP 4x8gb b-die ~$120. 2x16gb b-die price above $150 that's almost 2x price... Too expensive, for that money you can buy ddr5 2x16gb hynix a-die
ОтветитьHi, Buildzoid, is it save 1.6v for CJR like a DJR?
ОтветитьI disagree about DJR being a bad design, its more or less average with other manufacturers/bins.. including Samsung.
Sam B-die is just an anomaly.
Is it possible to have hynix DJR 32gb (4dimms) dual rank above 5000mhz with newer CPUs? That's my dream
ОтветитьBuilding a 5700x / B550 budget gaming rig and the RAM we got on a 2x16GB 3200 C16 kit was Hynix (can't tell which die) dual rank. The video helped me a lot in regards to setting a rough guideline to the subtimings.
Found a few odd things as of now regarding the subtimings using 1T+GDM (1T by itself insta crashes):
- tRDRDSCL 2 is stable but tWRWRSCL won't boot below 4.
- tWTR_S 2 and tWTR_L 9 is the lowest stable it can go. I rarely see tWTR_S below 3 so makes me wonder..
- tWRWRSD 4 seems to be stable but I usually never see it below 6.
- Not sure if coincidence but tRC also needed to be 58, LOL. 56 would crash, 57 might have worked though.
That's about it. Regarding overclocking the frequency these are possibly the worst I've seen ... Even 3333 C16 won't work... Settled with 3200-14-16-8-16-21-58. Vdimm raised to 1.45v but I think 1.42v should be fine as well. Still need to find the tRFC. So far it seems somewhere in the 460s might work.
Great content. Very helpful!
I got 2x8gb 3600Mhz sticks last week and they turned out to be hynix D-die which translates to hynix djr, I got them for 56$ which is good value I'm assuming?
Ответитьi wanna buy DDR4 kit but i dont different djr and cjr
can u guys explain me about different that 2 kit?
Thanks in advance for your reply!
I have R9 5950x paired with b550 taichi and 4*16 GB kingston fury renegade 3200 Hz....when try pc to 3600hz my system want be able to start....try many but don't know why can't pc this ram...any one same problem with same CPU or mother board or ram...
ОтветитьI have an X570 ITX board with some JJR (I think; might be CJR) VLP sticks that I put some aluminum heatspreaders on. However my setup runs really warm and I wonder if they wouldn't run better without the heatspreaders at all, with just empty space between them to make it easier for the downdraft CPU cooler to get airflow over the chips?
ОтветитьI have crucial Ballistix 3600MHz at 4400mhz with 5600x an asus tuf x570 gaming, evrething work super but I not obtain impressive performance over 3600MHz
ОтветитьI just realised that ryzen 5000 series cannot go above 3800 with 1900FCLK
ОтветитьWait you want trfc as low or as high as possible?? I know that it refreshes but does trfc at 9000 mean (teoretically) that it refreshes every 9000CYL?
ОтветитьFinally, I can buy RAM with my initials. /s
ОтветитьI had a kit of DJR that did 3800 15-8-21-19-27 @1.5DRAM. Was 2x8 Teamgroup 4000 18-22-22-42 kit that I picked up for dirt cheap. I also don't recall have any temperature issues. Having said that they were spaced apart pretty well and my case had great airflow. Our sub-timings are pretty much the same, although I was running tCWL at 10 and tRDWR at 14. At the time I didn't know they affected each other.
ОтветитьQuestion: While tightening timings on spectek rev E I ended up with tCL 16, tCWL 11, tRDWR 14. if I want to go lower on tRDWR I have to loosen tCWL ex: tCWL 12, tRDWR 13. Higher tCWL also means higher tWRRD so for gamers in general what could be more beneficial lower tCWL and tWRRD or lower tRDWR? I am too lazy to test 😛 and I think you already know
Ответитьyou showed asus the reason for thier motherboard fire.
they should give you a million dollar check. or at least one of everything they make .
This is an extremely basic question, my apologies if you're addressed it before. Do you have any favorite ram from a thermal dissipation perspective, any particular heat sinks that work better than others?
ОтветитьROLF, i wrote i dont know why i follow Jay2Cent on his Twich and he banned me, what a effing C....
ОтветитьFantastic video Build Zoid! It seems like you enjoy using that orange plasti dip for liquid nitrogen cooling! Does plasti dip come in other colors?🤔
ОтветитьBuildzoid, with the abundance of used cards on the market now, what Nvidia cards are the safest to buy and least likely to spontaneously die? I heard you say 3090 Tis should be more reliable. What about the 3080 and 3080 Ti?
ОтветитьDon't want to appear disrespectful but with your voice you could actually do Kermit's voiceover.
ОтветитьThoughts on hub’s video ddr4 3200 mhz beating 4000 mhz ram ?
ОтветитьIs there a negative to using liquid tape over plastidip BZ?
ОтветитьThe 3700X lives
ОтветитьAre U excited for messing around with new ddr5 sticks on ryzen?
ОтветитьAfter setting the VDD18 to 1.92 on my B550 Aorus Master i actually managed to get stable 1967 fclk from 1900 before on 5700x, thanks for the tip. 2000 fclk still no go(whea)
ОтветитьDamn... And just YESTERDAY I switched from 5800X/X570 to 12600KF/Z690... Weird thing is I can't boot past 3333 Gear X (1, 2 or 4) and on Ryzen I could get 3733 easily... Going 4x8 3600 CL16 DJR
ОтветитьAny thoughts on swapping the stock heatspreaders for some of those cheap amazon stick-on finned heatsinks on the memory packages? Seems like it could be a good alternative to pointing a fan at the ram for cases where it's not practical.
ОтветитьNICE AWES0ME KEEP_IT_UP! ✨🎉✨🎉✨🎉🎉🎎🎭🎎🎭🎎🎭🎗🎗🎗🎗🎗🎗🎗🎑🎑🎑🎑✨🎆🎆
ОтветитьYeah, I feel that 400%+ heat failure. Tempted to heat gun before memtest.
ОтветитьHi man
You yet have to OC Micron Rev-D
I have my Rev-D kit 2x8GB at 3800 1:1 (18-19-19-36-56) with tiiiight subtimings
1.35V
TRFC = 532 = 280ns
Keep up the good work !
Would love to see a 4x16gb Samsung B-die video on Ryzen.
Ответитьwhat's a decent itx motherboard for R5 5600x?
Ответитьis that fan sitting out/in?
ОтветитьMy OC'd 2x8GB Hynix CJR kit gets finicky when they get close to 60C, but since I use this system mostly for gaming they don't get above 50C outside of the stress testing.
ОтветитьHa! I have a Vision D. Being able to route GPU DisplayPort out into the thunderbolt controller is quite handy. Too bad I have not been able to get enough HDMI bandwidth through it to get my WMR HMD higher than a painful 60hz. I suspect that’s a GPU limitation rather than a thunderbolt controller or my specifically VR branded thunderbolt to usb 3 type A/hdmi splitter limitation.
I also happen to have laid a case fan on top of my four (G Skill F4-3600C1) DIMMs for stability (which also happen to have Hynix chips). I’ve given up on running my Ryzen 3600’s IF higher than 1.6GHz though. Been focusing on ratcheting down the timings instead.
I water cooled my DJR, super overkill lol.
ОтветитьTemperature sensitivity has been my bane since getting B-Die. The 4x Vipers I got have meek heatsinks and no temp sensor. When the GPU and CPU get pushed, it's easy to hit 50C after a bit (Used my work Meter with a thermal probe) on the exterior of the DIMM closest to the CPU heat sink.
ОтветитьTo Buildzoid. Strange that you say that DJR is mostly in expensive kits. From 2 cheap-o kits with somehow decent basic primaries that i bought, both were Hynix C/DJR.
Timings are similar to mine with 2x16 DR DJR, actually ... But main timings are better by 1... But i do use 1.48(1.5V for that hmmm... Able to run 1.4 (1.42?)... Need to test it out on stability). . . Tested... It technically boots even with 1.35 (strange), but only becomes at least noticably stable with 1.43(1.45)...
Well, on other side i need 2T to use then, sadly
Does sub ambient cooling affect memory overclocking?
ОтветитьWouldn't turning off the rgb improve temps too? Is it not worth having the shitty control software installed?
Or maybe even remove the heat spreaders for better airflow?
Id like to hear more about the modifications to the mobo :)
I'm also very nterested in what sort of things can be measured on a mobo with oscilloscopes of different speeds and sampling rates. And if a 200mhz used analog scope is gonna be better or worse than a 100mhz new digital scope. From a reputable(ish) brand like rigol or siglent
It seems like everything above 100mhz other than a used analog scope is way more than I can afford
I have a 2x8 hynix djr kitt 3600 cl 18. Can i run it 3800 or 4000? Will it boot?
ОтветитьBuildzoid out of context:
"Five and Six are basically the same thing."
Can you test Addlink Spider x4 2x16 3200mhz ram kit it's Nanya A die and its pretty Cheap you didn't overclock any Nanya A die on your Channel
ОтветитьWouldn't call this a mediocre overclock (per DJR) as compared to the XMP/what mbs will default this overpriced shit to, this is like a racecar kek and it's quite stretching DJR/DR (I am sure Hynix hates going over 1.45v for daily, especially when the GPU pushes hot air onto the DIMMs) though 17 tCL at 3800&21s isn't very sexy. BTW please do explain the 8 tRCDWR thingie thanks.
ОтветитьSeems almost identical timmings than the hynix cjr c-die that i have clocked 3800mhz/1900mhz with 5600x. Most difference are that i have a bit lower primary timmings.
ОтветитьCan you make a video talking about your thoughts on Linpack as a benchmark, what makes it perform terribly even if RAM is stable and also the process you go through to get competitive scores on it?
ОтветитьThe Dimms are very thick 👀
