So just activating the great rune does nothing? You need to be in a bleed build

Spontaneous idea: What is I give this rune to my 100% accurate spirit archer commit sepuku and let it sit on the edge of arena?
Example: you sit before the giants engagement distance, you summon archer that's name I cannot remember, commit sepuku and let it support you form afar with unreasonably consistant dps.

So seppuku in left hand, one hand it, hit the special, bring out rivers of blood in right hand, use the light attack with both weapons to really start the bleed proc then just let loose with corpse piler?

Small correction: you mentioned the wrong divine tower, it's the one to the left. It's the one that's hidden away through a tunnel just outside of the Capital walls

the problem is when i try this my mimic gets 3 shotted when i have 45 vigor good armour and mimic is plus ten upgraded

I thought the "phantoms" were the summoned tarnished

after reading the wikia and getting a somewhat good idea of what this rune does this will not make any spirit summon solo bosses, it will make any spirit summon solo some if not most bosses but there are quite a few it will suck at. bleed builds are great but when you come across something that doesnt bleed you might as well be on your knees praying the boss will just die out of nowhere. i struggled through the golden shade godfrey despite everyone claiming he was easy cause i had my entire build based around bleed, right now i'm trying to beat astel to get deeper into ranni's questline and i think i'm at around 10 deaths so far. +10 mimic tear with a +15 troll hammer isnt even getting the job done. bleed would be a waste of time since it takes 552.6 damage before it even hits, and he's immune to anything i could use to get in some scarlet rot. the only way this rune would work, based on what the wikia says, is if there were other mobs in the room with astel that my spirit summon could kill for to heal up with except astel is quite alone. this is definitely not going to work for any boss that is not biological.
EDIT: yah, no, bleed doesnt work at all with astel. summoned my +10 mimic with morgott's cursed blade +5 and meteoric ore blade +6 and got nothing. summon kept getting pushed back with the gravity pulse attack. he would get a few hits in and i used the troll hammer on it but combined we got it down about to about 75% health left.

Works horrible now

The way your mimic just slow-mo walks towards the boss after every devastating combo is badass.

Without that, my mimic destroyed her. She is one of the easiest bosses. Literally
