Your analysis, as always was thorough and fascinating. However you did not answer the questions I have, which would, perhaps, require a significantly longer test period. Does sleeping with this unit, over time, improve your deep sleep and HRV numbers? For me, personally, I sleep well with a traditional bed, and sleep with my Apple Watch Ultra, which, as you have shown previously, provides very solid sleep data. Hey Rob, it's me again :-) So it's about 8 month since you got the eight sleep pod, I wonder what's your opinion and expirence on it, are you still a fan and would recomment it or not? I'm thinking about buying one, since I have quite some trouble with sleeping, some due to temperature some to unknown, some to noise, so I'm highly thinking of purchasing, especially for the summer on my roof top sleeping room.

Eight Sleep suddenly removed their smart house API, so you no longer can use it with Home Assistant, this is a no-go for me. They took functionality just like that, without any replacement from what they removed.

The improved sleep quality would have been much more interesting and important than the data tracking accuracy IMHO. Did you get more deep sleep (on their website they advertise that). Etc.

DO NOT BUY. I purchased the cover and while it was great for 3 mos it developed a small leak. Customer service has done nothing but give me the run around. I have been requested to send in pictures of the leak, which I've done, FIVE times. There has been nothing done to let me know how or even if this will be fixed, exchanged etc. If you want to drop a lot of money on this product just be aware that the customer service is none existent after the purchase. Buy at your own risk.

Do you plan of verifying their claim by comparing sleep data before and after 8sleep ?

They have updated the pod cover with a new system and updated sensors supposedly. I'de be curious to see if it's improved at all since this test.

The comparing of different devices, how many individuals were they tested on?

is it ok to put a bed sheet on the pod3?

The most interesting insight was when someone reviewed it said that alcohol didn't directly affect the sleep but it it was the symptoms of it that affected it mainly the increase of body temperature.

Once he started using 8 device to cool his body at the right temp the effect of alcohol was not felt.

Exactly the review that made me flip the switch and order a Pod 3 bundle. Sadly this is a tale of woe. Boxes arrived ripped and product obviously damaged. Customer service at Eight Sleep is a joke. Phones not answered, chat not operating, emails not responded to apart from robo-responses. Dealing with this company was so problematic I'm pleased I never actually got a working product delivered just to have any ties now severed. I got (most) of my money refunded. Cannot comment on the actual product since I never got to use it.

Hi Rob, is the Apple watch (having the same biosensor architecture - to my knowledge) is in the same top right region of the spectrum as Apple Watch 7, 8 and Ultra on that chart, in terms of sleep tracking accuracy? Thanks for the answer 😊

This thing is complete garbage and a waste of your money. It reports you slept well even if you weren’t in the bed .it’s that bad.

Eight Sleep recommends using a blanket if you have pets, so they don't damage tear a hole and make it leak. Would you be able to test the pod cover with a blanket over it, and see how it impacts the results?

It's a bit expensive for a sleep tracker 😂 I read that you think your data wasn't good enough to say anything, hoping you'll make a video about sleep quality later on. Even if you would just use temperature as a proxy. You probably have tons of data on that without the 8 sleep.

Also side question. Have you ever found a good weighted sheet for very hot summers ? Ie. I thought about chain mail. But I think it might shift too much without being tapered down in some way. Weather stitched to some good bamboo sheet or elastic cords tethering it to bead. Any suggestions ??
