Bleach TYBW Cour 2 Was Disappointing | Animation Breakdown

I actually really like this guy and his criticisms but something that he does that I do not agree with is when he presents his opinions as fact like "I believe this and if you don't agree your dumb".

I agree with all of your points. My biggest disappointment of the whole TYBW anime (not just Part 2) was Renji Vs Mask de Masculine. That was one of my most anticipated fights to see animated, but it was terrible imo. From lackluster animation most of the time, multiple scenes where the whole screen was Mask's face (so they could make it easier to animate the episode), massive cuts for the fight and weak/weird "Number One" remix for the end of the fight... I wanted to come out of the episode happy and hyped up, but all I felt was disappointment and burn-out.

People just really can't handle criticism towards TYBW because of the massive wait for the anime (10 years). They want to believe it's amazing, and I want to as well, but I just can't lie to myself like that. The art is great, but anime isn't a slideshow of pretty pictures, it's supposed to be ANIMATED, which it isn't due to the massive strain of the art requirements which alienate many freelance animators from wanting to work on TYBW... 😢

Season 1 felt more epic. I fell asleep during parts of season 2. Not all. Most was great.

You are disappointing. Part 2 is fucking awesome. If u expect the studio to make a season every half a year without sacrifices, you are expecting too much. Look at attack on titan. They were making shit quality season 4 for years. And bleach season 2 flaws were soooo minor, that I wouldn't even count them. Calling season 2 disappointment is not a criticism when all you can do is nitpick for hype and views, because you have "different opinion". Grow up

Its ok man as much as i love and enjoy this second cour i did notice some of disappointment production here and there.. sorry i dont know better word to describe them. So yeah its ok i agree with you.. or should i say almost everyone who watch this video agree.

The only thing i agree with is the fact that the season was disappointing, I think your critique of the composition was not very intelligent. You cut your own argument off at the knees by saying, "It is just personal preference." Okay, if it's personal preference, then it isn't a critique. Secondly, you talk about stiff animation but fail to push the point home by saying that the anime is being rushed, they are doing that because they dont have time to anime everything as well and fit it all into the episodes. Thirdly the critiques you made overall are fairly minor when comparing it to how they actually handled some big moments in the show like the kenpachi fight or as nodt fight where they added no depth to these characters so no one cared that they died. The only thing you were right about was season two being disappointing.

I'm glad there's a video actually discussing this. I couldn't help but feel realy disappointed with the show when episode 8 dropped. I'm not mad, but I really did expect more and it does irritate me fanboys are trying to distract away from the lackluster animation. Visually I actually don't mind the show at all, I kinda like the glowy effects and the art is absolutely fantastic. But man the stiff fucking frames, it's like watching a really aesthetic slide show.

I will be honest, this season was caried by the 2 last episodes and was carried by plot.
They did not let the animation team Cook and i'm happy that season 3 has no real date, cuz i want another "the fire".

Watching stuff like Frieren its infuriating how that show gets sublime directing and animation but a legendary show like Bleach gets a mediocre treatment they really should have simplified the designs a bit and chill on the compositing especially for the power effects. TYBW feels like a big step down from Fullbrings anime adaptation which did what it did a lot better

Its either you are blind or trying to be professional episodes 5,6,7,11,12 and 13 are one of the best animated episodes in bleach ever the second cour as a whole had consistent animation and this is fax try using your eyes

Animation was lacking this cour, I don't think anyone will deny that. The studio had to put out a product that looked acceptable while having a limited number of key animators. I think they did a good job all things considered.

However, while I do agree the effects look jarring at times, as a hardcore Bleach fan I am fine with the effects of the Sternritters specifically. Their Vollständig forms are supposed to be an unnatural/twisted version of Uryu's Letz Stil form from all the way back when he fought Mayuri in the Soul Society--so I'm fine with them taking on an unnatural appearance as it can be taken as another subtle nod that underlines that their powers aren't natural/their own--they come from their twisted King Yhwach.

Regardless, I think the studio has to buckle down and get things sorted out on the production side in order to make the next season much better than the first two in terms of overall quality.

I think the main reason for the disappointment is because our standards for the action of cour 2 was set very high, especially since cour 2 was heavily action based, visually it was pleasing but the choreography didn't hit as hard cour 1 because they used a lot of still shots. I genuinely enjoyed cour 2 because of the anime only content and visuals

As a bleach fan, I enjoyed cour 2 a lot, I might have even liked it more than cour 1 to be honest. However, it's true that the peak of animation in cour 1 were not reached in cour 2. While I don't think the animation was bad, it was definitely a bit disappointing. Especially since before cour 2 was released, one of the big things the staff was hyping up for cour 2 was better animation. As I said earlier, though, I still enjoyed it, and I don't the animation dragged down my experience watching.

I wait for 10 years for this arc and what can i say, its impressed me so much. Cant wait for the next cour next year.

Sorry, I can’t bring myself to watch the whole video (doesn’t matter if it deserves it, watching something I love get heavily criticized/hated on just isn’t fun), but if the animation truly is “mid”, I don’t care. Doesn’t change the fact that this is still the most visually appealing anime I’ve ever seen.
And as far as I can tell, while we never reached the heights of cour 1, the quality was much more consistent and better OVERALL. So yeah, this was not disappointing to me. I never expected sakuga all throughout.

Overall I enjoyed cour 2 and I believe it's better than cour 1 regarding the compositing you're right to each of his own I like it my only issues in cour 2 were cuts made in the zaraki episode renji episode and the animation quality of episode 21 which had the shots where you asked the viewers if this looked good? And it didn't for me. episode 21 was the only episode I am disappointed by the animation quality and other things but tbf that episode was supposed to look better but a staff member asked his friends to redo finished shots so that he would have an easier time correcting them i think he was fired after that. Despite that the anime original scenes the new number 1 ost and the fact that the manga chapters that were adapted into the episode is one of the best chapters of the manga makes up for it. Kinda like gear 4 episode of one piece which didn't have sakuga despite gear 4 being a big deal in the manga. I enjoyed gear 4 episode more than gear 5 episode but tbf it's because I like g4 better. I used to care a lot about sakuga and high quality animation but now I prefer good art, cinematography, compositing, camera angle than sakuga. It's not that I don't want sakuga or I don't like sakuga I can't fully appreciate it if everything else is In a poorer quality for example gojo vs toji fight. Even with less sakuga than cour 1 I like bleach tybw cour 2 even more than cour 1. Cour 2 for me improved a lot of things from cour 1. everything else other than sakuga that cour 2 has makes up for the lack of sakuga and high quality animation enough that I'm not upset or disappointed by it. I've been rewatching cour 2 eps since I finished it and to me anything that's rewatchable not just anime is the best kind of visual entertainment.
