I realize you were island hopping, but you didn't really see what Phi Phi had to offer. The hike up to the overlook is one of the most scenic places in the world. The nightlife is also legendary!

It isn't named Phi Phi just because of those limestone formations in the background.

As usual, too many tourists ruin things, which was a major point in "The Beach"

Maya Bay had been closed to tourism following the degradation of the biodiversity, coral theft in particular. I hope people will understand this time. Tourists are disrespectful and think they can do anything they want. They should be fined when they cause damage to the biodiversity!

I went to Phi Phi island in 2011 and your reaction is exactly what my reaction was the first time I walked onto Maya Bay - it really is paradise and probably the most beautiful place in the world. I really like the footpath they've built from behind Maya Bay to walk a few minutes to the beach itself, that wasn't there when I was on Maya Bay and I think it's a great idea because it was just overruled with boats and tourists before. I would love to see more of the islands that make up Phi Phi - I only went to Maya Bay and one other beach where I had lunch and I went snorkelling in the sea, and tropical fish were swimming all around my legs, it was incredible. I love Thailand and I will definitely go back one day.

It is similar to El Nido. It is a beauty as well like El Nido. It maybe became more famous because of Leonardo De Caprio in the movie The Beach. But the novel is based on the author’s six months stay in the Philppines. Maybe i am biased but Palawan is one of the most beautiful island in the world. El Nido and Coron is the main reason.
