At least the captain was a legit captain who went down with the ship. Not like that italian dude who captained the Costa Concordia

It honestly holds up pretty well other than the CG but thankfully there's not too much of it. Every shot isn't so dense with so much going on.

With all these 'versus' movies coming out, I can't wait for "Titanic vs Space Shuttle Challenger"!!!

There’s too much going on in the movie for these extra character beats with Zane and the mother.

They exist so the audience doesn’t think Kate Winslet is a hoe for sleeping around on Cliff and abandoning her bitch mother to a life of poverty.

Instead, they’re like “you go girl, get that Jack juice all up in you” - people need a reason to believe the “wrong” thing is righteous, and the fiancé and mother being unrepentant assholes accomplishes this.

When making your point Why do you ignore the first class passenger ….you know the big lady that gives him a suit and was nice? ….oh

I was talking to my husband about Titanic the other day. We have an inside joke that my mom's dog Carl is the dictionary definition of a dog. Happy, dopey, a little wild, but mostly cute, kind, and down for fun and shenanigans. A true doggo. I used this as a comparison when I said that in the same way Carl is the dictionary definition of a dog, Titanic is the dictionary definition of a movie. It's got all the things: romance, drama, period piece, historical event, conflict, love, special effects, action, and a story everyone can understand or relate to. It's a good movie. But it's also kind of designed to be.

You didn't need to do that old lady like that, Plinkett.

I needed to listen to plinketts soothing voice after hearing about the tragic titan implosion...
