Good day everyone. The so-called "Bajo or Bajoe in Indonesia", "Bajau, Bajao, Bajaw" in Malaysia, "Badjao" in the Philippines, and "Samal" in Sulu, and similar cognates, are indeed "Sama". All these autonyms and exonyms have been put upon members of the Sama by the "outsiders". Sama is the appropriate and acceptable ethnonym when referring to any autonym or exonym of members of these ethnic group. The first settlers of Sulu, Basilan and Zamboanga (now Zamboanga City) were the Sama (Pallessen, 1985). They were the fourth group of people who migrated from Indonesia to Zamboanga Peninsulas, Basilan and Sulu way back to 12,000-8,000 AD (Maximilan Larena, 2021). There are a lot of things to talk about the evasive identity of these people, but this is not the proper forum to tell who really these people are/were.

Most of these people are being discriminated for just being a badjao and as beggars on their own country and countrymen. Most Filipinos are annoyed for just being around them. Poor people, one of the special kinds of humans on the planet but just getting discrimated on their own country.

🤔 10 yrs old...i think it was mistaken understood coz it was too old✌️...in Philippines me myself i learned swimming at the age of 4-5 yrs old especially living just besides the sea, at that age i admit that i can't go deeper just the older one...how much more to a baby badjao 🤔 as grow old i learned badjao in Philippines was not ordinary into the deepest of the sea even in their young age 👍👍👍...👏👏👏 I'm amazed the vid entirely 🎉🎉🎉

I'm from Philippines My highschool bestfriend is a badjao we use his boat to get fish and get drunk in the middle of the sea and his like a real life Aquaman.his now studying law and will become a future lawyer we still hangout but not like how we used to since were adults now.

Someone should send them flippers.
