Thaler I got a question I’ve been playing guitar for about 7 years now and today I was practicing and I sound like crap can you help?

This is an old post, i dont know if anyone can see my comment, im at this rut stage and have no confidence and even i dont know what to practice 🥲 can someone help me?

I had a music project at school about blues and improvisation and literally cried because I was confused, frustrated, overwhelmed and felt like shit because I am the worst of the 4 guitarists there. I am very embarassed and my confidence took a massive hit. Just thinking about the fact that something similar might happen again makes my cry and I dont even want to touch my guitar again. I know it probably seems silly, childish or immature and thats what makes it worse for me. Not being able to stop the tears makes me feel even more helpless.

I've been practicing for 3 years non stop and can't even play a song on two different strings I think I suck ima prolly sell my guitar and try something else to suck at and waste years of my life on

I restarted to play a few months ago and started to practice new genre.
Learned a ton of new chords, sus stuff over six frets.
And a few new pentatonic patterns.
Don't give up on your guitar you WILL get better at playing.
So many light bulb moments.

I picked up the guitar when i was 35.. fast forward 10 years i know i have learned alot but i am stuck and haven’t improved much for past few years.. my only regret is i wish i took some lessons and had a structure to follow.. internet is full of instructions but my advice to you all beginners is to please take some lessons before you waste your time..I’m about to smash my guitar 😡😡

I'd say I'm decent, but I suck at fingerstyle

the only thing thats keeping me going through life and not ending it is the pursue of my one and only biggest dream which is to become a muscician that inspires people as much as my idols inspire me. the day that passion burns down is the day that i die and even though i still suck since im only 15 i believe that i can achieve something because i have never felt such strong burning love for something or even someone as i do for music.

I've been playing guitar for years and feel that i still suck.

I’m currently watching this right now at the brink of tears from frustration. My dad bought me a guitar for my birthday during February, it’s currently August and so far I feel like I’ve progressed to basically nothing. In general, when it comes to picking up new skills and such, I’m almost never consistent when it comes to learning. I don’t know why I’m like this, and for once in my life I actually want to be good at something, even if it’s just a simple hobby. I burn out too easily, and that’s something I hate about myself. As of right now, I really only know the basics which are the E minor and E major chord. I’m attempting A minor but I’m failing miserably at it. Even the simplest of chords I should be able to play by now are extremely difficult. I just wish I could learn at the same pace as other people, and by being self-taught I have no idea what the fuck I’m doing.

All you said applies if you practice. But I don't practice. How long will it take for me to become great in this case?

I always thougt that it is to late for me. I still do. I am 21 and for what I want to achieve, It just feels like I need to be 12 or 15 like everyone else. I feel like the years just crashed me over without I can realize. Even though I still trying to be better and will try to be better, I feel like it is to late for me to become something to listen.

Here is my standard. I want to make music that I would listen to. That's it. I don't want to be celebrity. I don't even care about making money with music. I just want to make music that is fun to hear and play. I just want to know that I can make music that makes me feel what I feel when I listen to my favorite artists.

I can't play leads or solos. I can downpick, gallop palm mute but when it comes to playing solos I'm ass. Been months and can't get unstuck.

I picked up a guitar 12 years ago. I suck. I never practice. I know I have it in me to be able to play good things if I dedicated myself to it. I just never play with other people or even to others. Only in my room and to myself. I would love to become better at fingerstyle and everything that I find good or cool. I have been wanting to join classes with groups just to connect with some others to see how it goes. One day.

I think I have ADHD. I can't get more than 15 seconds into a piece without my brain going to spaghetti land

today marks the 15th day of me owning my new guitar and i have played acoustic for a total of like 16 days. as i type this comment, i realize how ridiculous i am to even think of giving up wondering if i just dont have what it takes within just 16 days of touching a guitar for the first time. i am not giving up, i am going to play the way i have wanted to always. well atleast i gotta try or i ll be haunted by this ghost of a dream unfulfilled always. to any beginners or just anybody out there who'd need it, yea you suck w your guitar rn, so do i but dont u wana play this instrument and be lost in the bliss that comes w it too? lets get this done, we ll sound horrible, we ll feel like throwing this instrument on the wall at times but nah lets just try before coming to any conclusions. good luck

As someone who has been learning guitar and sometimes dis motivated this is helpful to stay motivated. Because even tho the improvement has been small I am still improving and that's what matters. 🥰 Thank you for making this video. I’ve been playing four months and I feel like I should be way better I can play a simple version of the less I know the better by tame Impala and starting on wish you were here, Idk I feel like as you said and that I just want to have something click so fast. I’ll start practicing more, I fell out of practicing a couple weeks. I don’t feel good about it. Man
