MASTEEEERRR..." words deform and fade away, washed away by the bliss... and then again comes the comedown, and "he" is back to "his" personal hell. "Where we goin'?" To that hell now. Craving. :D Those "ticking" ticks... that's "his" veins pounding, and "his" time ticking away. Yeah. :D

"who says we can only get deep in rap and have like double layers and sh... like that" - good music will do that, regardless of the genre. You can usually tell good music if you listen to it again and again - and find something more to be found. I love rap because it likes to pack things up, much like real life - things happen fast, and you need to sit down and think for a minute to see not just what was said, but what was not said. I love metal because of its brutal honesty and how it tends to not just bring the elephant in the room to everyone's attention, but outright rub everyone's faces in it. ;D

The live performance of this song, the pauses after master is when the crowd does a callback of master. The second part is the addict’s brain in chaos headed to the cravings.

Actually i listened this from C-cassette on x-mas time. Crappy little player, i was aroun 10, but in Finland metal is kinda part of our dna. Voluma was only thing to make mom and dad annoyed.

also i wonder if the lines where master is written twice, the first one is obey your master as in the drugs, but the second one since its from the perspective of the drugs is the drug calling you the master, because while addiction can control you for years and ruin your life (iv lived it) the real "master" that will fight to get you clean and the only master than has the control to get you clean is you. so i probably thought too deep about the repetition but it is what came to me. and from a conversational perspective it would make sense to refer to a separate person the second time i think.

wow iv heard this song a good 20 times but never looked the lyrics up oddly. these lyrics are exactly what addiction is like, well at least with pain killers, i would imagine all of the addiction types could relate to this just not trying to make assumptions for others.

Knox, if i may add some insight.....my opinion......the melodic solo represents the short lived and very FINITE euphoria experienced when you achieve that ever elusive high. The way that solo very quickly turns into the over bearing beat represents the IMMEDIATE urge to start chasing that next high. Yes, I am a recovering addict. This is a very real melodic representation of addiction in my opinion. This song has so many layers of harsh reality.

To my brothers and sisters who fight daily, the beast can be controlled. NEVER STOP,, YOUR FIGHT IS WOTH IT. YOU ARE WORTH IT.....EVERY BREATH.
