I say NO to tipping. The whole premise of counting cards is to take advantage of the casino and their own rules. It is YOU against THEM. You shouldn't feel obligated to tip when you are literally there to make money from the casino.
ОтветитьMe and the dealer win or lose together. I win big, then I'll give a tip and if I lose, then we'll we both lost.
ОтветитьDepends on how friendly the dealer is and if I’ve profited.
ОтветитьNever tip, casinos make tens of millions of dollars per year, it’s their responsibility to pay their dealers well, don’t start with the empathy bs.
Casinos are not charitable towards people, neither should you have empathy towards them, don’t start making analogies talking about restaurants and the people serving you food, we are not talking about the same thing at all.
If you feel charitable, go buy a drink and tip the server or the cashier but don’t tip the dealers.
Say you worked at an ice cream shop, and a guy comes in every day and tips you $20 and asks you for an extra scoop. Would you give it to him? I would, and casino employees work the same way. The dealers are also working for tips. You don't have to tip if you don't want to but just so you know if you don't then the casino employees will never do anything to help you, they will only try to get you out of there quicker. You want to make the dealer, pit boss, and anyone elses job as easy and as fun as you possibly can. You want them to actually LIKE you. It's a lot harder to kick someone out or report someone that you actually like that makes your job better. Conversely, it is very easy to find reasons to kick someone out you don't like, and some people might even go as far as to personally target you. In almost every casino it is NOT the dealer or pit boss's responsibility to catch card counters. Surveillance is responsible for that. If a pit boss does not catch you, in almost every casino nothing will happen to them because it's not their job. A dealer will never have any reason to ever report you unless they take their job way too seriously or you just tell them when you sit down you're counting cards. Casino employees are just people trying to get by like you. The real enemy is their bosses, who they probably hate too.
ОтветитьAs an outsider watching this from Europe (where tipping is very rare, only place I know they’re doing it is Germany and maybe England) I think the whole tipping system is absurd: I paid for something, which means I’m already “paying the workers”, and I still have to give out money, for what exactly?
Edit: this excludes the times when you want to “thank” the worker for an excellent service, I love that
I tip dealers all the time regardless of what game im playing. They work hard and are always willing talk and give advice
ОтветитьHow can you? Try took all of your money? If you win, sure. If the dealer was in on your scam, split take.
ОтветитьI only tip if im winning at the end of my session. Also the dealer needs to be polite. Some dealers are nasty with an attitude. They aint getting shitt
ОтветитьI never tip it’s -ev
ОтветитьEveryone has their hand out for tips in the US.
ОтветитьA little tip can go a long way for someone
ОтветитьIf I’m there to play strategy and count, I’m not tipping. If I’m out with friends and we are playing craps or roulette or other card games? Then I’ll only tip on a big win and I usually tip 1% of the win. That being said, I think tipping in a casino is a little weird. They are taking money from people left and right so it’s very strange to tip to me. Unless it’s a cocktail waitress/bartender.
ОтветитьA 15 minute video over analyzing whether to tip or not is over the top. To go as far as thinking of it from a “business perspective”.. lmao. Relax and just be a decent human and tip a little from time to time, relax and have fun. Jesus
Ответить1st tipping came about as an addition to the average waiter or a really great waiter. If the dealer is useful an concise. And im profiting , then yes tip
ОтветитьTipping dealers is the exact opposite of advocating for reasonable wages.
I’m not an AP, but years ago I won 20k playing BJ in about 30 min. Started off with 2k bets.
Did one final 5k bet. I was going to throw the dealer a 500$ chip- then before I could they mentioned something in a snarky way, I politely told them I’m a just having fun and was going to tip them but now instead I’m gonna give your tip to a complete stranger. And I turned around and there was this young couple looked 21 walking by and I gave them thr 500$ chip. LOL I didn’t say anything just gave the guy the chip and walked off
I had a friend who was an AP Blackjack Player for a decade back in the 80's , teams play, solo , traveled Worldwide, arrested , backed off ,....even made the Griffin Mug Book....After experiencing, " burnout ", he went to work dealing B.J. in Nevada. When he was playing Professionaly he NEVER TIPPED ,.....he told me , " screw " them Dealers .The ironic thing is he dealt B.J./ Craps for the next 25 years !....😅😅😅
ОтветитьSo I will say most state owned casinos have a union that will make it so dealers will always make a certain amount regardless of tips. where as dealers on the reservation usually get payed tip wage witch is not a lot for what dealers have to deal with. but overall I think dealers should be tipped based on service if they made it an enjoyable experience or not for the players. I am a dealer so this is my take on the topic.
ОтветитьI gave a tip to a dealer. Smile, you might get a tip next time.
ОтветитьFuck that, I dont have to tip, I tip if I feel like it. I dont know the dealers, so what if they get mad. If is a female dealer I may offer a deep penetration 😂😂😂
Ответитьonly if youre up money
ОтветитьI throw a tip if I leave the table or if the dealer changes. The amount I tip is based on how much I liked them. I even found a few dealers that would "mess up" in my favor, like I would have 18 and they get to 19 and they call it a push..... I don't correct them when that happens, and I usually tip more often but usually this is not repeated, it may have just been an accident. I mostly play at a casino where they are trained very poorly.
ОтветитьNo, they don't tip you when you lose
ОтветитьAt almost all casinos it doesn’t matter if you tip each dealer because they pool their tips.
ОтветитьI sure hope nobody is refraining from tipping their dealer and then tips the cocktail server. The dealer is paid minimum wage while the server is paid around 50% more per hour. On top of that the server is probably making 100-200% more in tips.
ОтветитьI been a dealer more than 10 years most of us are expecting tips and we talk on break room about players not tipping 😂 work on more than 5 casinos they all the same dealers talk to each other about players not tipping
ОтветитьI’ve kept stats over 25 years playing Blackjack. Without counting and just playing a sound basic strategy combined with money management, I have an 89% win percentage.
Tipping is easy. At the end of a session as I’m leaving the table, if I won, I tip. If I haven’t won, I don’t tip.
Not a duty (assuming the player's not rich or a celbrity). But if you win, and the dealer's been tolerable, you tip just 'cause it's nice, when get up to you leave the table. Makes you feel like a big shot for a minute.
No tip if you lose. No tip if the dealer's kind of a prick.
Size of the tip is always just one chip; if you;re playing big - winninngs of 500 to 1K - toss a 25 or a 50.(and it is essnetial to TOSS the chip, frrisbee-style if you're practiced, with a parabolic arc preferably, to land just so - and stick - on the table by the dealer's hands; a parting phrase such as "Buy yourself a new hat, kid" is also de rigueur).
Never toss more than 100, no matter how the sizeable the winnings; sets a bad precedent.
Civic duty?
Sorry never seen a dealer throw a chip to someone who just busted so, I'm not throwing a dealer a tip when I win.
I risked the money not them!
Tipping a dealer depends on the attitude of the dealer, some of them consider tipping your obligation, and that is wrong, on the other hand there a real nice dealers, they make you fill good , that different, the rest is irrelevant
ОтветитьYou have a great session? Sure, give a small tip
Other than that, no. They get paid by the hour, and you are not required or obligated to tip
The casinos need to pay their dealers a living wage. Never tip.
ОтветитьHere's how I tip. If I get a Blackjack and it gives me a weird number, like $12.50, I'll bet the $2.50 for the dealer. Then when I color up, whatever I have in small chips that couldn't get colored goes to the dealer.
ОтветитьI don’t care if the dealer is happy or sad. I’m not tipping at the Black Jack table. Also if I win a jackpot at a slot machine I’m certainly not tipping the person who simply counts out and hands me the money.
ОтветитьI tip. Sometimes they help, but I'm a novice
ОтветитьI say always tip. But never place a dealers bet because if you lose, the casino takes the dealers bet. You could instead just tell the dealer that if you win this hand, you'll tip him a certain amount
ОтветитьI have been at Dealer for over 20 years when I played locally everyone knows me I always tip well, but I start with a small amount and play the dealers money on top of mine so if I win, they can win, increasing and decreasing their bet also same as mine although I don’t bet every hand for them I do try to pick certain spots when the count is high, they all understand and they know.
ОтветитьI don’t tip - I give the whole shaft!
ОтветитьI can tell you this as a former dealer/floor/pit/shift I have intentionally knocked over a drink to stop the game because of stiffs. I have also thrown plenty of rating slips in the trash or entered a terrible rating under a co-worker's employee #. On the flip side, some generous folks have also received some very generous treatment from me. If you don't think tipping matters you are nuts. PS no one ever forgets a stiff.
ОтветитьIt's tip guilt. It's out of hand! I would be willing to tip one time, when I'm done playing, only if I won during my total time.
ОтветитьDon’t tip the dealers all of you go do what you want to do. And never tip a dealer at a place where they are sharing tips with other dealers. Because some employees are actually goof while others are bad
ОтветитьNope, I never tip anymore. Do dealers ever give me anything when I lose money? Of course not. This whole tipping culture is retarded. I used to tip at restaurants, but now I avoid eating out because of the tip pressure. The few times I do eat out, I never tip. Nope, fuck that sheep mentality. For me, it's not about money, but the fact that people are trying to force me to pay something I'm not legally required to. I've lived long enough to know that life isn't easy and nothing is free, so why so I give my money up for free. Sorry, but I haven't lived this long to act like a bxtch. Nobody gives even a dollar more to the IRS, yet they act all generous to people that are simply doing their job smh!
ОтветитьThe restaurant review analogy is bad mainly because servers keep most of their tips. Also, because tipping in restaurants 15% or more for good service is long established etiquette protocol. Etiquette on tipping dealers is much murkier.
ОтветитьTo get an EV of $50 an hour your top bets will have to large enough that most dealers aren't going to be satisfied with 1-2 $5 bets for them over 100 or so hands if you're winning significantly. Just ignore them if they show disdain. If they show significant disdain either leave or reciprocate the disdain.
ОтветитьDo you want a steady, efficient dealer who will let you concentrate when you're counting, or a dealer who will speed up and slow down and tell you stories while they're dealing??? You literally get what you pay for in a dealer.
ОтветитьHell no
ОтветитьNope
ОтветитьHow did he make a 15 minute video on tipping?
ОтветитьI set my goal for what I want to win in a session.. once I reach that goal I go a little over, then use that money to make min bets and play for the dealers. They seem to like that. That way I hit my goal, and then I play for the dealers without cutting into my own profit.
Ответить
