Yes, you too can keep your working files in a nice orderly condition using an archive file. Don't rely on default, basic, archiving to the same directory. That won't work this time. You can use org mode to set up a custom archive file location for storing your important work in long term retrieval refrigeration. This works nicely with org roam if you have one master node for keeping a running list of active files in play, the archive the stuff you're done with. It's simple, with default Emacs options, find out how. Watch.
