What a waste of lives. I imagine the remorse of many of these pilots, decades after this war. Savagely killing each other, when logic would have rather dictated that all these young guys would have a drink together. Unfortunately, war is deeply rooted in the blood of the human race

As I watched this amazing footage, I wondered as the FW-190s and Bf-110s closed and in some cases "stood-off" at a distance lobbing cannon rounds into the B-17s and B-24s, what were the gunners aboard these Bombers doing? Some of the German pilots made incredibly close passes as they pulled away without taking significant (if any) damage to their aircraft...........

Me 109 had 1 20mm in the nose. Fw 190 had 1 20mm in each wing. That's why our crews feared the 190. Even worse, the Me262 had 4 30mm cannons in the nose and could take out a B17 in one pass.

It's FOCKE-WULF, not Fokker Wolf. c'mon!

Those flashes you see on the bombers are 20mm rounds exploding.

Notice the ball turret guns just hanging there. Very bad news.

it seems to me that american planes rarely caught on fire as the footage has shown, remarkable. If you look up pacific footage, you will find out that the japanese planes are much more prone to burst in flames due to the absence of safety measure.
