No muppet........Ron Paul is not stupid and he knows that taxes are only collected by govt to be re-distributed to their special interest groups. Welfare has never helped anyone of any race and only destroys economies and makes people lazy. Welfarism: the creator of non-productive generations!!

@pinkkfloydd I was talking about the poor here in Finland. Most of the wolrd is a poor shithole.

@pinkkfloydd
@pinkkfloydd - 21.12.2011 22:41

@ilkkavu You're delusional. The poor here are much, much better off than most poor around the world. You're simply buying into the statist narrative. Educate yourself.

@ilkkavu Good to know you support theft and coercion over voluntary charity. Sorry bro, you just exposed your immorality with that statement. And you think it's okay to have a decent life without working, which means they can live off the fruits of others' labor, you clearly have a very questionable and rather disgusting set of principles and morals.

@mtanousable No, Finland is nothing like Geece or Italy. We are like Germany, an economically sound country. Kaj Grüssner is some libertarian goof.

@mtanousable - 08.12.2011 12:16

@ilkkavu You realize that is the case with those in extreme poverty here, as well. And New York City is essentially a welfare state, anyway. On the other hand, while things might seem great in Finland now (at least according to you - I think you are exaggerating it a bit), it is headed down the same road as Greece and Italy. I would encourage you to look up the writings of a man name Kaj Grüssner, a Finnish tax consultant, if you are looking for an example of what I am talking about.

@mtanousable Yes, I have been to Florida and New York City. You can see many things there you never see here. :) I don't believe in charity. I believe in the welfare state. In Finland you can have a decent life even if you never worked a day in your life. The only way to be really miserable here is to be an alcohol or drug addict.

Ответить
@mtanousable
@mtanousable - 08.12.2011 10:23

@ilkkavu I agree - they are not poor. But the government still classifies them as such, due to a ridiculously high poverty line. I actually come in under the poverty line, myself, and yet can afford a LOT of spending on unnecessary items like books and video games. And I don't think you are aware of how low the number of people in extreme poverty in the US actually is - or how much charity is there to help them. Have you been here, or are you relying on biased European and American media?

Ответить
@sukkeri
@sukkeri - 08.12.2011 10:18

@mtanousable If you are better than middle class in Europe you are not poor. We have not the kind of extreme poverty here in Finland that the US has. If we compare the people who have it the worst, Finland crushes the US. US has a lot of people who have extremely miserable lives.

Ответить
@mtanousable
@mtanousable - 08.12.2011 09:47

@ilkkavu In 2008, the OECD reported that "the gap between rich and poor has widened more in Finland than in any other wealthy industrialised country over the past decade" and "Finland is also one of the few countries where inequality of incomes has grown between the rich and the middle-class, and not only between rich and poor." Higher prices, along with lower salaries, make for a lower standard of living than in the US. Many poor in the US are better off than the middle class in Europe.
