What you mentioned in the beginning was something I wish I learned coming out of school, don’t generalize. For getting good in multiple fields divides your limited time to learn your craft. Picking a focus and becoming an expert in that is important, a jack of all trades won’t find much work. For you are in a hyper competitive field, and the good generalist will always lose out to the great specialist. And in the era of globalization and high-speed internet, your competition are artists from around the world.

You can always build in other areas AFTER you master the field that you will use to put food on the table.

I draw everyday for one reason and one reason only. I’m a horrible procrastinator. I know this. And I know that if I can come up with an excuse not to draw today, then I can come up with an excuse not to draw tomorrow and the day after etc etc. I’m not saying everybody needs to do this but I struggled for years to develop a proper art habit and it works for me.

Depends the artist. I do. I can completely forgot half the muscles and make the draw anyway. but then i feel like i failed. When i don't remember each single muscle interaction for every draw, i make sure i improve in that department with each.

So that part is more depending on what you want out of your work.

When it comes about lightning. Remember a bunch of concepts and let your imagination play the rest out.

First there is global lighning. Is basically the tone dominating the piece and what is going to define the general feel of the art.
Second is light sources. now you imagine that scenario now have lights coming from different places instead of a basic ilumination , now the character has a lamp in front. but also a window behind, and in that window there is a blue light. And then reflections. Your character is holding a golden pen. Ok, that means not only the pen will strongly reflect your character hand. but also your hand will reflect both the pen and the lamp. I recommend doing a bunch of draws only to play with the concept of light sources and reflections, it's pretty fun.

Pls am a total beginner and i don't know where to start or do. Pls can you help me? How should i start as a total beginner who doesn't know anything about drawing and who doesn't know how to draw. I always imagine things in my head so that i can bring it to life but i can't because i don't have the skill to bring it to life. Pls help me. I want to acquire the skill to draw.

You could argue that you have an accent but I personally don’t mind and it feels more real and natural. I promote keep working. Muscle me is very important. Studying and having a direction is also very important. I am an expressionistic spiritual artist so I focus on different principles and theories then you do so I have to follow artists that work similar and read books that focus on those theories. However I get more productivity when I work things out while working.

I drew everyday for a year straight with multiple drawings a day. Mostly because I was isolated in the Blue Ridge Mts. at a shitty boarding school— but besides that! Anyways while I did make great progress it also completely burned me out for a few months. Meaning my improvement went away during my break. Now I draw a few days here and there, also mostly because I drew so much I screwed my hand over so...
