Question, I did a 4 year old plus kit with my daughter for soap making. Strangely enough they had soap powder with no listed ingredients on what the soap powder consisted of, days later I’m still coughing from the fumes. Would you believe lye would be a in a children’s soap making kit? If so shouldn’t warnings be listed. No where did it say take any precautions to eyes or fumes. I can’t find anything in there ingredients online either. It’s klutz jr soap making kit mermaid. Let me know your thoughts

Actually I figured it out on soap calculator however there are three different coconut oils listed here on soap calculator. Which one would I use?

I’m just started making soap, I tried making cold process soap, I made sure the lye and the oils temperature was 100, it had a trace and maybe I mixed it too long beautiful was a little firm. It did not pour in the mold it was stiff. Once it was in the mold for about an hour and a half, I saw what look like oil at the top of the soap. Can you tell me what I did wrong please. Thank you😊

You indicated that you can store your lye for few days. Is this because you soap at room temperature? I've been making my lye solution the same day i make the soap and it's a waiting game to get it to cool to right temperature before I can add to oils. This would save me lots of time if I can make it day before

Living with anxiety, I didn't think I could work with lye and feel safe, but she makes me feel so safe as long as I was careful, wearing safe gear, and thinking safely during the whole process!

Okay question if I had a little kid and they had proper gear on and a made sure they keep it on Can they come in? another question can i use a gas mask instead of a respirator cause I would rather be safe then sorry
