I remember watching him in high school when St. Thomas Aquinas came down to play John Curtis Christian in New Orleans, whom at the time were the defending High School National Champions and were on 29 game winning streak. Against a veer option offense that consisted of all future college players, he had THREE sacks, and they handed John Curtis, arguably the greatest program in Louisiana history, one of its worst losses ever. He was without question the best player in the nation that year.
