I'm not a huge fan of Marley but he is a legend. I have deep reverence for someone who can write music that continues to deeply touch people years and years after their passing.

I had never heard of Bob Marley and he was scheduled to perform at our local collage. The copied posters were so poor that you couldn’t tell the race of the person pictured. I made a derogatory comment about the person pictured and was labeled as a racist for my comments. I just thought it was the picture of a weirdo.

Every time I went to Moffat field with my dad, I got a new Beatles album. But the first 45 that I ever got was don’t shoot the sheriff by Bob Marley. Still have it.

My father introduced me to Bob Marley at a young age when he travelled to Jamaica regularly and brought back at least four of his albums, namely "Natty Dread", "Burnin"", "Rastaman Vibration" and "The Birth of a Legend" which featured his earliest works. I added to my personal collection later with "Kaya", "Exodus", "Survival", "Uprising" and "Confrontation". Truly a legend, and "Three Little Birds" is beautiful in its message and overall simplicity.

Professor, thank you for posting this video. During Bob Marley's heyday of the mid-late 1970s, I was a teenager who constantly listened to music on the radio, but I wasn't aware of Bob Marley or his music. For whatever reason his music just wasn't played on mainstream radio where I grew up in the USA. It wasn't until I started spending time in record stores as an adult that I became familiar with his music. His message was truly one of hope, faith and love in this often chaotic world. RIP Bob Marley.

WOW… thank you for finally doing an episode about the musical pide piper! His songs have been my mental medicine for my soul for YEARS! His voice was taken from us WAY TOO SOON! My husband (who has been the Marley fan way longer than I have been) and I took a cruise for his birthday and one of our island destinations was Jamaica and that was why I chose this particular cruise for his bday. We went to Bob’s compound and hubby absolutely loved it. To this day, we still listen to Bob Marley’s music every chance we get…

I watched when he was inducted into Rock n Roll hall of fame. I started listening to him in 1985, after his death, and I have never stopped listening and have done extensive research on Rastafarians and Rastafari or Halie Selassie 1. I now listen to his children along with so many other Jamaican music mostly Reggae. He is a man of talent, with a mission from JAH for Rastafari.

Growing up Marley was never played on the radio in LA until KROQ started to occasionally play one of his songs, but really only after he died. I still never hear his music on the radio. The only exception was when I lived in New York where they had 3 major reggae stations back in the 90s. If it weren't for my drum teacher assigning me to listen yo reggae I would have nevrr heard of him until maybe the 90s when finally prople started finding out about him somehow. Probably through college stations. In Hawaii he got some air play too since reggae is big there. But in Los Angeles, growing up, they rould sponsor his concerts on KMET, but they would nefer ever actually play his songs.

I was a nurse for 39 years and I was introduced to Bob Marley by a young patient who was in the hospital for an extended period of time due to a problem pregnancy. She was listening to his CD with ear plugs and she held one of them up for me to listen. I fell in love immediately and have been there ever since. Bought the CD that day as soon as I got off work. It’s one of my all time favs, especially “I Shot the Sheriff”

Why is everything today Gluten free. There is no definitive heath benefits for it...unless you have Celiac disease. There was a report in a medical journal that said it was more hazardous for women as it (gluten) contains a breast cancer inhibitor.

There will always only be one Legend Bob Marley 💖
I also live in the tropics and I have a mother and son family of birds who visit my porch several times a day. They come right up to my door and sing to me, so I open the door and talk to them and they reply. They always lift my mood higher and bless my soul, so I can quite easily believe Bob's friendly bird inspiration. Bob was also an Aquarius soul, and so am I, so I can completely understand and relate to his optimism and love for peace and freedom. His quirky song lyrics inspired by birds are very normal to me and what a blessing to the whole world he still is more than 40 years post his early passing.
A musician sent to be an instrument of peace. A true angel and the ultimate legend.
Another great show. 😊
