There’s an old saying that if you own something it got there on a truck. The truth is if you have it got there on more like 5 trucks. Trucking right now is soft. If someone tells you that the economy is growing they probably aren’t good with the truth. If someone tells you the sky is failing they probably have some strange ideas on the world also. The White House is on an all out attack on the economy but the American economy is very hard animal to kill

The economy is the reason why im weary of a seemingly great job offer.

You totally missed the most important question, Why would Powell reduce the Fed rate??? What would be the reason??? You both were discussing a likely "cut" timeframe. You would need a crystall ball to be so specific to even discuss a timeframe. Therefore, a reason for a predicted cut is never, never given. That's because there is no legit reason, its wishful talk. Point, inflation is ticking back up, no thanks to the wild deficit spending. Why does this wishful Fed funds date specific talk continue with most financial talking heads? I had hopes of not seeing this here as well. You really missed the target on this interview.

Danielle DiMartino Booth said something incredible ignorant in this interview.
She said employees contribute to a 401K and their employers match this. This is not accurate. If an employee contributes 25% of their salary to a 401K plan, most employers will not match this. What normally happens is an employer will provide a contributory amount not to exceed 3% of an employees salary, not the full amount.
In addition, most employers have a grace period, typically one year, before they begin the employer contributory amount. That means for the first year the employee can expect zero "matching" from their employer to their 401K plan.

As a canary in the coal mine contractor I will say things are getting bad. People are holding off from projects, getting 5 estimates where they used to get 2-3. (Estimates are fine but they are getting shady fly by nights to get you to match price) I will admit 21,22 were red hot (although we got beat up bad by the inflation) 23 slowed a bit and now 24 seems we are heading in a very bad direction and it’s not just me . Multiple sectors different categories are feeling same squeeze They need to stop the charade I am getting very sick of fighting for work so they can tax me heavily to give it to others

I work in the petrochemical/energy sectors and we can't find any qualified candidates. I am not buying this. I highly respect Danielle DiMartino Booth and I love her commentary, but I think the timing is off. Massive layoffs may manifest themselves in Q4 2024 or 2025, but not until then. Or maybe I'm in the right sector to be employed.

Brilliant delivery of the topic. And highly professional. However, there is one point where I completely disagree with beautiful Danielle, and this is the term "white colour recession". It is a "white colour wannabies" recession. Due to the fact that the higher education in the US has become 100% perverted, we have hundreds of thousands of so called "college educated" people, who do NOT have any useful profession. They all went to colleges for "fan and diversity", they accumulated hundreds of thousands in debt, by paying for "fun" and NOT for a profession. They are useless garbage, and - rightfully so - nobody wants to hire them. I work in the electrical power industry, and EVERYBODY - yes, every single employer - is desperately looking to hire qualified workers, technicians and - especially - engineers.
But the stumbling point is "qualified". So, this is a recession for those who represent a "social garbage"

Being at zero for 13 years we have to crash that bubble and it’s most likely a depression that knocks down assets 30-50%
Then the system can go years. If not inflation will cause the end of UDsA with spiral inflation
