What if Talos just died, and we have all been decieved by a prankster Daedric Prince giving out blessing to people who touch a talos shrine, after all that is our only reference of his so called divinity in the game, whereas all the other eight divines have shown a little more throughout the game series, how is it Talos if he is meant to be so powerful can do so very little other than a rather shit blessing for the majority of tamriels citizens. Wouldn't it be funnier and more believable that a Daedric Prince has been playing a really long prank on Tamriel, can think of quite a few who would do such a thing to be honest, Uncle Sheo, Clavicus Vile, Mephala, Sanguine, hell even Mehrunes Dagon would make sense given his sphere (though very out of charater i admit) and even Molag Bal with the domination thing, (again out of character for a prank though), this isnt even counting the many other potential Daedric Princes we have not come into contact with yet, as if ESO keeps going its looking like there may be many lost ones we do not know of, those that where beaten back by others or those who everyone was made to forget about by Hermaeus Mora and his stupidly OP ability to change the universes memories of history, able to write a daedric prince out of it to reduce their power to almost nothing.
Its hard to say what is going on and we can talk in speculation all we like, eventually we can hope to find out, and lets hope its within our life times, which with how quickly they are or rather are not pumping out elder scrolls game, is looking unlikely.

Towards the end of Tiber Septim's life, people couldn't look upon him without seeing the shadow of a dragon enshrouding him, and often people speculated he was a dragon disguised as a human.

I like the idea of the ascended Talos being triune, or three-headed.

That was strangely........satisfying. I was always confused by the lore of Talos (Heimskr didn't help any) but this is......sensible. Not sure if I agree, I mean anyone could have written those blasphemous stories under a pseudonym. Even a High Elf........

What if the Last Dragonborn canonically joined the Stormcloaks? The Dragonborn is "King" Ulfric's Stormhand, his strongest soldier. And then under some unfortunate "circumstances", Ulfric would die and the Last Dragonborn would succeed him.

Hear me out. The default Dragonborn is a young man, more or less 25 years old. The White Gold Concordat was signed about 25 years ago, the event that banned the worship of Talos. Then there's the obvious game canon that only Talos and the Last Dragonborn were the only people that the Greybeards called to their temple. The Dragonborn is also able to rule almost every faction in Skyrim.

Alternate theory King was worried that Talos having won him so many victories and being so popular would feel that he deserve the throne more So he betrayed Talos and tried to slit his throat before Talos defended himself and killed him and blamed it on an assassin so that it would solidify the support pace behind him instead of fracturing it between the two of them
