Why do you always skip the 130 grain 270 win. 129 grain should be compared to the 130 grain.
Pisses me of how you always skip 130 grain 270
Crippled Submarine Vet. I found a barely use Remington Precision in 6.5 Creed More, amazing accuracy, low recoil for my daughters! Next, a 6.5 AR-10, amazing accuracy for an AR-10, extremely low recoil, unbelievable for multiple rodents!
Ответитьhow does the availability compare between the 270 and the 6.5?
ОтветитьU total forgot the 26 nosler n 7 prc s bro !!!!
ОтветитьI have my dads 1950 Winchester Model 70 270. With 130 grain Sierra bullets hand loaded with IMR 4350 it will shoot 1/2" groups. The rifle is 100% stock and original with a B&L Balvar 2.5x8 scope. 100yds +1.75", 200yds zero, 300yds -6", 400yds -18", 500yds -36". Never had to shoot past 500yds. Works on everything from squirrels to elk. Maybe a little light for moose or brown bears. I know most people like to have special cool calibers but what I have found is it ALL depends on shot placement not how cool your caliber is. I know most don't like to hear it but a 30.06 is still one of if not the best all around high powered rifle cartridges in my opinion.
ОтветитьAbsolutely love both these cartridges!!!!
ОтветитьThe 270 is the most overrated cartridge qnd those who love it get really butthurt when somebody says its not that great. Want to know if somebody uses a 270 just wait they will brag about it. They are worse than creedmoor shooter's.
ОтветитьCloser than I thought. I tend to think 270 will become more popular/have increased variety IF 277 Fury takes off given they use the same bullets. Cost might also come down slightly.
ОтветитьAs a child raised in the North.
If you were a Barren Grounds, trapper/hunter. The only rifle to use was a 270
If he use the 145gr elf-x and 130gr sst for the 270 it be a more or apple to apple and orange to orange match up.
Ответить6.5 cm is just a 250-3000 with a faster twist.
ОтветитьSeems like so many people have forgotten or don't know the 6.5 Creedmoor was developed as a short action target round that can double as a pretty darn good hunting round
ОтветитьMy problem with your recoil number is the 6.5 w/143 gr 2700 fps compared to .270 w/140 gr 3000 fps and 150gr 2900 fps and naturally the .270 has more recoil. It's speed is 300 fps and especially 200 fps faster with a 150gr bullet. Of course it has more recoil. But it's a lot faster. Magnum faster. P. O. Ackley didn't make a .270 AI because he stated it was already a Magnum cartridge. I've even used 90gr TNTs in my .270 and used it for groundhogs out at 700 and 800 yds. It just about cuts them in half. Deer are down and out using the 140 Nosler BT. And if you still have any, hard to find, 175 gr bullets are killer on larger game. I don't think there is a more versatile cartridge anywhere from anyone. But the problem is you can't sell new rifles unless you come up with a new cartridge. It's the only reason you see so many new cartridges. Just my 2 cents worth.
ОтветитьJack O'Connor would srill pick the 270... You didn't mention the 270 is long action, therefore typically heavier rifle when packin' all day.
ОтветитьLove your setter. I really miss my best pheasant
Hunting dog ever, a tri color female setter.😊
Great job of explaining the differences, thanks a lot
Ответить6.5 has been taking off i think its the modernization of things an the lower gr. An the fact that its labeled as a traget rifle and it forces hinters make better shot placements. 140gr new 6.5 ammo is out now. In my oppion is the reason why people dont like the 6.5 an ammo shortages?? Just order them.😅 6.5s are everywere in sc because no one likes them cause they say they cant take down deer. Kids use 243s an knock em down... your speed vs distance vs grain vs shot placement is key. Im a small guy 134lb so 6.5 is up my ally hate i get laughed at from people with these giant rifles an still have to chase that shot deer for 30mins
ОтветитьCame for the comparison: no interest in 6.5 in the least!! Hunted and guided with my grandfather's '39 Win Model 70 270 for 70 years!! Tried the 7 mm, mag and the Win 300 mag; satisfied with the performance and stats of the Win Model 70 270!!
ОтветитьThere is so much immaturity in the shooting industry, resisting change for the good and technology is just plain stupid, the 6.5 creed is super accurate, and because of that shot placement is easy, so there is nothing really it won’t kill. The recoil is actually not much noticeable over a .223 so no chance of developing flinch , flinch is very hard to fix and wreaks shooting ability, I notice a big difference in recoil from .308 to a 6.5 creedmore, I go for comfort, accuracy, barrel life, any-day, stop the hating and grow up.
ОтветитьYou hit it right it is not a hunting cartridge it’s is a target cartridge it’s a hyped up cartridge that isn’t as good as it was made to be
ОтветитьBullet ballistics are so close I don't really think it matters what you use.
Ответить260 rem. My personal fav
ОтветитьIf you have a .270, no sense getting a 6.5 Creedmoor.
Ответить270 all the time 💪🏻
ОтветитьI own them both, but prefer the 6.5.
ОтветитьYou mean a 300 win mag can't be beat drops them in thier tracks, the 6.5 and 270 perfect shot and they run off than die, you can't beat it, you can not beat it.
Ответить
ОтветитьRon, I enjoy your show. Just recently came across it and find it educational and interesting. As a deer hunter I don’t do a lot of firing other than sighting in my rifle. I’ve hunted with a .32 Winchester Special, a 30-30, a .243, a 30.06 and a .270 rifle. Taken whitetail deer with all but the 30-30 and can’t remember any recoil in a hunting situation. Is that because I shoot a 12 gauge shotgun far more? (Duck Hunter) I really think the recoil feels different between a rifle and a shotgun. Maybe I just don’t notice. Curious on your thoughts. By the way, I’ve hunted from 18 years old until now mainly using my trusty Savage 110 CL in .270. Killed 30 odd deer with that round and love it. Shoot a Savage 110 C in .243 with synthetic stock in bad weather and like it just fine. But that .270 is my Baby. Keep bringing us more!,
ОтветитьRon I’m sorry. But the 6.5 cm is junk. It has zero knock down power. It’s not even close to the 270
ОтветитьI like the 140 and 147.
ОтветитьBunch of boomers in the comments 🤭
ОтветитьPlease, wake up to yourself, there is no comparison
ОтветитьHey can you compare cost$$ for us please😀
ОтветитьThis is kind of like comparing the .308 to the .30-06. 😑
Ответить6.5 is for vaginas
ОтветитьI wonder how the .270 would have stacked up using a 130 gr bullet. I used to reload a lot of .270 rounds. I head spaced my Remington 700 ADL to get the best bullet depth. Ran my rounds over a 'Crony' building the load- this yielded dime sized groups at 100 yards. I won't list everything I did for uniformity but, dime sized groups, I couldn't get that consistency with any other bullet weight. I weighed my Winchester power to a tenth of a grain- one at a time- down to a single kernel. That dime sized group- a dime covered a 3 shot group completely and regularly. I should have never sold that rifle.

ОтветитьHonestly. The Creed started life as the .250 Savage Improved. Take the .250 IMP( great cartridge in its own with 120’s) neck it to 6.5. Almost there but not quite. Let’s put a better base on it by necking .308 Winchester to .250 Savage. Trim to length. Neck up to 6.5 Fire form and voila. The original .250 Imp with a 120 grain bullet is every bit the equal with a Creed 120-125. Put a 140 in the Creed. We have the Creed and what makes it what it is. Neck the new 6.8x51 with steel base and jack the pressures and oh boy. A discussion for a later day.
ОтветитьNo comparison in killing ability 6.5 is great for targets it’s atrocious for deer.
ОтветитьThis is nothing more than free advertising for a new fad gun.
10 years from now you will be hard pressed to find ammo.
My bet is that it will follow the 6mm Rem, the .284 Win, the .280 Rem, the .450 Marlin and other "Fad" calibers into oblivion.
Many people can afford only one hunting rifle and for them the .30/o6 is still the best.
Regardless of what your girlfriend or your wife tells you
Size matters, especially in link😂
270 will knock down anything hell a 22 would if you knew what you were doing
ОтветитьMy wife has a nice 270 that is very accurate and she loves it
ОтветитьThe better comparison would be 6.5 PRC. A 6.5 Creedmoor can't compare to a 270 Win. The 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5 PRC rifles have 1:8 twist which give them an advantage with heavy bullets shooting long range.
ОтветитьSimple. I have both. One isnt better than the other
ОтветитьI am so envious to know that after finishing the video you walked out of your house with your dog into that beautiful countryside and hunted pheasants. Even if you didn’t see a bird, you are a fortunate man.
ОтветитьCan you dig deeper into the 6.5 swedish round?
