ОтветитьWhat about 1 chord songs?
Papa was a rolling stone. The first song I ever learned on the guitar. Still playing it. It’s a classic. I play it in Am
Oh! One thing I should say , regarding JIMMY BROWN THE NEWSBOY: the ( SIR ) used so much spoils the song, so play and sing it but drop the ( SIR ) ~ ~ ~
ОтветитьVery nice. I would like to add , that JIMMY BROWN THE NEWS BOY is a l - V. (1 - 5 ) progression and it works well . .
ОтветитьGreat 2-chord song I-IV
Is Feeling Alright by Dave Mason. Joe Cocker version even better
Rick, Are there any Beatle songs that you know of that have only two chords?
ОтветитьGet back from the Beatles is a great song. It's played with three chords: I IV VII, but the VII is totally negligible. So it can be played easily with just the I and IV. It was one of the first songs I ever learned because my guitar teacher knew that it can be played with only two chords. I learned it with the D and G chord. And for the G I just had to use one finger and strike the lower four strings.
ОтветитьInclude "Guantanamera"
ОтветитьI am puzzled by Foghat because Foghat was NOT a OHW. Stone Blue, Drivin' Wheel, I Just Want to Make Love to You, Fool for the City, Third Time Lucky all made the charts.
ОтветитьMinor quibble, the song "Dreams" adds a vi chord in the instrumental break. I guess Buckingham decided Nick's song needed a short break from IV-V vamp.
ОтветитьDreams has 3 chords, it hits an Am7 in the bridge betwen the first chorus and second verse. I think for 2 chords you cant beat Paperback Writer, which is the elusive hit I to IV song you were talking about, but theres some very cool vocal stuff happening to make it more interesting (and maybe arguably hits a V a capella)
ОтветитьHow abut Richie Havens "Freedom" great Performance...
ОтветитьHeroin Velvet Underground.
ОтветитьHorse with no name has more than two chords . Here is one with two “ lady in black” bei Uriah Heep
ОтветитьGet a better female singer.

ОтветитьSublime "What I got" i-iv chord progression the entire time. It's a classic
ОтветитьHow bout Tennessee Whiskey? Kinda popular .
ОтветитьDon't they technically have 3 chords, as the open strings are also played?
ОтветитьTobacco road
ОтветитьTomorrow never knows
ОтветитьFeeling alright
ОтветитьTomorrow never knows- The Beatles is 1 cord only .
A better famous 2 chord is the hit

ОтветитьBorn In The USA
ОтветитьUnknown Legend Neil Young
ОтветитьWhile the three song you posted are good . I dont think they are the greatest.. in ny opinion.. the greatest 2 chord song that ive seen and heard so far is.... Tennessee whiskey by Chris Stapleton.. this cant be beat
ОтветитьMy favorite two cord song is "Jane says".
ОтветитьMy favourite two chord song is Dance the Night Away by the Mavericks.
ОтветитьMary Spender!!
ОтветитьIn Dreams, the chords are pretty much irrelevant--Mick Fleetwood's drumming is what makes it good.
ОтветитьSing! by Ed Sheeran. So groovy and interesting, just 2 chords.
ОтветитьI really love Salbo Day from Peter Green
ОтветитьRoadrunner by the Modern Lovers is pretty much just 2 chords. Funny thing about Dreams. It's a beautiful song but something always bothered me about it. Now I realize that it's because it never gets off those 2 chords. My brain feels that the song needs a third chord to balance it out.
ОтветитьWow, that Nirvana song was really bad.
ОтветитьOne chord lhit!! Dance to the Music & Everyday People by Sly Stone.
ОтветитьBaby's on Fire" and "Third Uncle." Both by Brian Eno.
ОтветитьA solid I-IV is Sublime's "what I got"
ОтветитьHer-oin Velvet Underground
ОтветитьYou talk WAY to much
ОтветитьHey, it's Spender!! And she NAILED the Fleetwood Mac song!!
ОтветитьTulsa Time should be on the list.
ОтветитьUriah heep
ОтветитьI think what I got by sublime is only 2 chords
ОтветитьHeroin - VU
ОтветитьCan't manage I and IV?? What's wrong with (and shame on you for not even mentioning) "Watermelon in Easter Hay" by Frank Zappa?? OK, it's an instrumental, but it is hauntingly beautiful for its entire 9-minute length with only 2 major chords, IV and I
ОтветитьLindsey Buckingham said he had to "frame" Stevie's tunes all the time. I'm guessing she didn't appreciate that.
ОтветитьRex’s Blues (Townes Van Zandt)
