Which rapid set product would be best for a 2"-2.75" chimney crown?

this is so much more work than dry pour. No wonder dry pour has become so popular for us normal idiots.

Hello Mike, I was wondering if I can add very small stones to try and match the surrounding concrete driveway with this product?

You said that you're not a professional, and if you're watching this video, neither are you. I've been a carpenter and concrete finisher for 32 years, so at least 1 professional watches your videos. From what I've seen, you take pride in your work, you have a good attitude, and you're a better finisher than a lot of the so-called journeyman that the union hall sends out. I'd say that makes you a professional. You just need to learn the terminology, for example, I don't know why, but we say rodding instead of screeding, so we call it a rod, or rod board instead of a screed or screed board. That industrial trowel is called a Fresno. The magnesium float is called a mag. Finishing is implied, so finishing trowels are just called trowels unless they have round corners, and those are calld pool trowels. That edger is called a shiner or a border edger. The tool you cut the joint with is called a jointer or a groover.

Is there any particular reason you stressed that the rocks should go below the level of the forms? I'm going to use 2x6's (5-1/2" wide) as forms and fill the bottom 1 inch or so with rocks. This will give me a full 4" of concrete (not the 3-1/2" of a 2x4 form). Thus the rocks will be INSIDE the forms. Any problem with that?

Is there any need for the gravel. What drainage does the concrete need? It's not that permeable. And for household projects I probably don't need an engineering solution. If you don't do the gravel you'd save a ton of time. It would be worth seeing how concrete performs without the gravel.

5 quarts of water seems to make a lot more sense then quickcretes recommended 3 for an 80 lb bag.

Thank You for the video. The biggest screw up for me is always the amount of water issue. So it is 5 quarts of water per 60 pound bag? I could not tell how big the bags were. And 5 60 pound bags per 10 square feet? Thank You in advance for your respopnse.

That brought back so many memories of helping my dad do cement work. He poured2 large double wide driveways. Living out in the county we had acres for our 2 properties. He was a perfectionist with his work.

Can you DIY a small driveway with this? My current drive is made of rocks, and trying to snow blow during winter can cause issues...like flying rocks.

I`ve used this mix quite a few times ,It`s costs a bit more than regular cement mix but it preforms very well in the long run and finishes very good the only con I ever had was that it`s has a brownish color instead of gray.
