Idina Menzel plays a character in Enchanted who I honestly thought was going to be the villain the first time I watched it. She thinks Patrick Dempsey is cheating on her with Amy Adams, and I was thinking she was going to team up with the evil Queen from the cartoon world to get revenge on Giselle, since they now have a common enemy. This would have been a perfect villain song if she has been a villain. Giselle is the trope of "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" so this would have been perfect for that

I absolutely adore this song. Idina is a goddess. The movie had potential, but it’s just bad. I don’t like the “redeeming” of Tremaine — she didn’t deserve to be. I would’ve liked if the “time period perspective of women” had been used to give depth to Vivian — NOT make her an anti-hero. I love anti-heroes but Cinderella is not the place for it, Maleficent created high standards . . . we don’t speak about Cruella. Anyways, I like the 2015 movie better, it was a true Cinderella live-action.
