I'd still take the base 992 over the M4 competition. I just love the shape of the 911. Beautiful car.

At the end of the day, 911 makes you look like you have more money than driving an M series.

I just dont get the comparison between Porsche & BMW. For me they are not even in the same league. I will summarise my ownership experience into this; Ive had 3 911`s spanning from a 82 sc sport, an 2007 997 & a 2011 997 gts. They have never gone wrong & ive made money on each & every one. In comparison my BMW experience has been the complete opposite, broke down & cost a fortune to repair. Then you blow your brains in when you sell them. BMW have only ever made one good car & that was the E30 M3.

Good video but you can’t compare a bmw m4 to a Porsche 911

There seems to be a preoccupation with speed as though speed is everything. It isn’t. Speed without proper handling is useless. Porsche has always managed to combine speed, agility, handling, comfort and beautiful lines into one cohesive unit. I would take this over any other car anytime.

The Porsche 911 is in a different league than the M4 Comp. That said the base 911 actual beats the M4 Comp in a drag or rolling race so….Porsche greatly under reports their performance. I own both for different reasons as the M4C is my daily driver where my 911 is my true performance sports car for the weekend. The PDK is miles more responsive than my M4C.

Your comparison is a bit suspect. Comparing a very very base Porsche 911 992 to a top of the line b,w is not a true comparison and have not learnt that much.

I have currently ordered the new 911s 992 in the same colour with sports chrono, sports exhaust, BOSE sound system, two tone Bordeaux red leather, park assist, led matrix lights on 20/21 wheels with a lot of internal options like ambient lighting , power steering plus wheels painted in high gloss black plus other lovely internal options…. Each to their own at the end of the day.

You just can’t compare a base 911 to a top of the line m4.

Porsche has not manufactured a "sports car" since mid 2011, unless you call grand touring a sport.

My last car was a 2019 M4-- had 2 different M3's over past 15 years before that. 4 months ago I sold my M4 and got a 2021 911 Carrera S-- in this same Adventurine Green color. Another dealer had a 2022 Carrera S in black that had just arrived that day-- But because of this color I opted for the 2021-- was worth it to me as just don't see these on the road nearly as much as black, white etc. SUCH a different ride than my 3 previous BMW M cars-- definitely a stiffer and rougher ride overall. Also, before this Porsche, I only drove Manual my entire life. No manuals available at all-- which was a bit of a bummer-- But I love my new car and the 8 speed PDK really does do an amazing job. Have zero regrets and it is a true pleasure to drive.

Porsche goes up in value over time depending on which one you buy and if it’s in good condition with low mileage “ I don’t think any Porsche owner has low km on there Porsche.

Joe I know you own the new m3, would you choose that over a base 911? Having a tough time making a choice. The durability and ability to hold value on the 911 is steering me in that direction.

It's lovely to see a car judged by a person that is a total opposite to the actual target clientele. This is "my spec" - as quiet and civilized as possible. Looks like you seek as much sport as possible. To get this a model you actualy should test is the S or GT3. And leave the base + heritage for such blokes like me :D

I sure wish this base model used the 4.0L from the 718 GTS. 394hp and only a dash less torque than this twin turbo unit. It likely weighs a good amount less as well. Would love to see 911 shape with mid engine layout. Make the rear a big hatch back like the Cayman. The back seats are unnecessary.

There's no comparison with a porsche to a BMW...porsche is a incredibly unique car...all bmws have the same basic look in the interior 😆

Agree totally - the heritage interior package is not a great option. Would definitely spend the money on the Sports Chrono Package and Sports Exhaust
