we all as men have to play a role in changing the stigma about talking to other men about mental health. it’s better to let your friend cry on your shoulder than having to cry at his funeral.

one thing I know from dealing with anxiety and depression is that intrusive thoughts become one f the biggest symptoms of anxiety. Overtime when you continue to stay in the same state you train the brain to react in certain matters when you dont express your feelings, if you bottle everything up your mental state will become worse and your mind will start to become overwhelmed and depressed which will lead to suicidal thoughts, i had them severally and had the thoughts constantly and it would give me panic attacks because its not something i wanted it felt like my mind was telling it was the best option to end suffering. Ive never been suicidal and the more i thought, i realised that the they were automatic thoughts that happens based on your state of mind. never let anything bottle yes we are men but that doesnt mean to keep it inside. If you can control your mind you can control your emotions, and vice versa. Also know the differences between Thoughts and Thinking, thoughts are automatic and thinking is done from your own control, if its intrusive let it pass, if youre actually thinking about it, dont do it, you have one life, and youll never get another chance, make the best of it, you wont be happy unless you allow yourself to be happy.

Honestly, I feel like another big part of the stigma behind men’s mental health is the fact that when you’re strong and you’re a leader, everyone just forgets that you have a breaking point too. And it feels weird because when everyone thinks you’re invincible there’s a mixed sense of pride and abandonment. They admire you when you run into the burning building, but only from a distance as to not touch the flames because where you’re courageous, they are not. I feel like men are afraid to show vulnerability because a lot of them are the man of the house or somebody’s rock, and they can’t afford to lose their composure, because if they lose it, everyone else loses it too. What I found that has helped me personally is making an effort to look at pain as something to learn, and grow from rather than a sign of weakness. That’s my piece

I completely understand I'm a 3 time surviver my father was an alcoholic my older brother died and my mother is a sociopath the first time I was 13 the second time I was 15 and again when I was 15 now I'm 16 i still have thoughts sometimes if you ever need to talk to anyone you can talk to us

I have no friends no one messages me turned 18 , 2 days ago couldn’t cancel my trip to nyc lost 1400$ nonrefundable hotel and plane ticket.

These past few months have been rough watching this video pointed out a lot that’s been going on in my head. It’s been hard to talk about it I’m only 20 years old. I tried college it didn’t work out then I got a well paying job with work I hated. Being on nights and 12s. I was always down and tired. Then my gf broke up with me. Which really messed me up made me think about me as a person my choices how distant I’ve been from myself. It became a lot I tried to wait it out but I just knew. I had to quit my job so I can put more focus in myself and better career choices.

In may I lost my best friend to suicide in may then in June I tried to kill myself I don’t remember much about that day but remember the paramedic that was with me in the ambulance was telling me about how he was the same paramedic that rushed to the scene when my best friend jumped i vividly remember how hurt he looked talking about it it just made me realize there’s a lot more people that care than you think suicide isn’t the answer to anything when I lost my friend I lost a part of myself and I won’t ever be the same it messed me up so badly and when I tried to kill myself it effected so many people around me even though I wasn’t successful and to anyone out there that feels like suicide is the only answer i promise you it’s not you don’t want to hurt your friends as bad as my friend hurt me you don’t want your mom and dad gettin a call that you’re gone you don’t want any of that i promise the hurt you are feeling will go away eventually but I promise you the hurt your best friend and your parents will feel is forever so please just keep that in mind and just keep pushing you got this

I agree that suicide seem like the only option as someone who has dealt with is personally, but if you have not given a try something I have found it to be powerful is seeking God, the Bible tells us if we believe in who Christ is, meaning despite our mistakes and sin God still loves and care because he sent his Son to die for is even when we are guilty, you will then understand how important you are to God, it says John 3:16 "For God so loved the world he sent his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but recieve enternal life, God did not send his Son to condemn the world but to save it," that's you and me despite all our flaws if we just believe in Jesus and what he did our home does not have to be here but heaven.

Depression is very real I can relate. After close family members have died I have had thoughts of suicide. I fight everyday. I'm fighting hard. I believe that failure is a steppng stone to success. Never give up at something that you want. Things work out.
