This is the way we move past the actions of generations before us... Comedy and laughter are the best medicines in that they heal the emotional scars and the mental wounds that people don't see... When you can laugh at about something you did to yourself or something that was done to you, that's when you take back the power and gain control over the issue... This is true in every context, from embarrassment to insecurities to societal issues... None of us were there, thankfully, and we shouldn't forget what people have experienced, but we have come so far. I think the last 10 years we have taken a step back from moving beyond any racial divides. Chappelle helped us be able to poke fun at how petty racism was and still is.
