I'm surprised to see that mint looking Tamiya Frog in the background... Dope. I had one and rebuilt it 100's of times during use.
ОтветитьGood knowledge of these, thanks. Most people dont know what a crown tube is. Trying to describe it is next to impossible (they think you mean the crown!, not the TUBE). Every watch above $300 should have a crown tube, IMO and it should be screwed into the case, not pressed. I remember these. Not many people had them in the 80's in the West.
ОтветитьDoes the Captain Willard started being called like that just after the movie apocalypse now or is it something that started in the 90's or even after? And how was it called before the movie?
ОтветитьExcellent, thank you
Ответитьit is funny because most dive watch manufacturers have used the aesthetics of their pre dive watches on their dive watches, so I have noticed. great works, thanks very much for the educational work as well as being great entertainment
ОтветитьYes I can see the Tamiya frog in the background!
ОтветитьI have A 1970 Seiko 6105 proof/ proof where Seiko only produced these for 2 or 3 months; Does anyone have any idea what it would be worth.....its on a Vietnam era Olongapo handmade band from Phillipines.
Bill
A friend of mine has several variations of these Seiko quartz Tuna dive watches with shrouds in tact in his shop but everyone overlooks them due to being unaware of their significance like I was until now. I would kinda prefer and welcome a quartz seiko diver to slap on my wrist whenever I want to without having to set it first. Great upload!
Ответитьhuh, the service dial doesn't have a date stamp on the back?
Ответитьnice vid... I love my SBBN031. i love the Tamiya Frog on the book shelf. My rc car was a Grasshopper.
ОтветитьAbsolutely brilliant summary of some wonderful Seikos. I have been very lucky to find a 6105-8110 and 6309-7040 in superb condition. I’d love a 6159 but I’ll settle for my favourite modern diver MM300 SBDX017. What a great video. Thanks guys👌
ОтветитьHello, Could you please let me know from where you got the miniature fighter pilot helmet?
Ответитьnobody is hunting for the "resist" dial 6159... that's an absurd statement. A "proof" dial 6159 will always go for more than a "resist" in the Seiko community. The only place you could up-sell that is to a vintage Rolex collector.
ОтветитьPlease a Part II
ОтветитьRG, What watch are you wearing in this video? I🙏
ОтветитьI have had some lovely watches from the Philippines. It's harder to find decent watches in the UK where I am from. I've had all the early divers. I specialise in Seiko vintage watches. The 6105-8000 is my favourite. Such a classic and classy watch. Nice video thanks.
ОтветитьGreat collection Mike. A great slice of Seiko history. 👍
ОтветитьAbsolutely brilliant review of my favourite watches.
ОтветитьIve recently gotten my hands on a 1988 Seiko SQ Sport 150M 5Y23-6069 pepsi dial. It is pristine condition with full documentation. Seems to be quite rare/hard to find online.
ОтветитьGreat video, good to see such an interesting collection! I own a few of these myself, cheers
ОтветитьYes!!! Enjoyed that and saved for reference.
ОтветитьPeople really underestimate the 7548 and 7549. All quartz watches are not equal and these movements were really, really over-engineered. They were based on the 6309 and were Seiko’s first effort at a serious diver with a quartz movement. Brian May, from Queen wore one as did Norman Schwarzkopf. The movements were jeweled and entirely serviceable.
ОтветитьMike, are all these watches yours? I have many of these but missing a few.
ОтветитьWithout our country PHL it would be very difficult for you to find that vintage watch like that 6105. We are in abundance of Seiko Divers since we are closer to JAPAN and we have strong link to this country after WW2
ОтветитьYour 6306 has aftermarket hands.
ОтветитьAlways hunt vintage seiko divers after reading Mike's well reviewed articles on Fratello watches. Thanks for a great video.
I live in South Korea and not many people look for vintage seiko divers, which I get on really good prices. Good place to buy vintage seikos
What do you guys think about SEIKO ES7S26 3120 i have one i fell in love with it
ОтветитьHugely fascinating.
ОтветитьQUALITY CONTENT! SUBSCRIBED
ОтветитьAbsolutely amazing video. Fratello is on the rise !
ОтветитьReally enjoyed this!
ОтветитьReally enjoyed watching this, excellent overview
ОтветитьNice !
ОтветитьGood video guys, and a nice lineup Mike.
ОтветитьThanks, very interesting - I guess it is much harder to get Seiko background information vs Rolex, Omega etc.
I like the no-nonsense look and affordability of Seiko. Just in the process of servicing a 1962 Seikomatic and after watching this vid, I think about getting a Silver Wave next. Keep it up.
素晴らしいセイコー コレクション!
ロバートさんの 白いSpeedmaster?
イタリア限定?😮
凄い😲
Great to finally put a face to the voice after listening to all the podcasts!
ОтветитьVery interesting, in depth, long talk. I enjoyed it very much and will come back to this video for sure. I'm waiting for more conversation of this type.
ОтветитьVery nice video, great fun!!
ОтветитьFratello Good content
ОтветитьGreat video. Weird to put a face to Mike's voice :)
