Is it better to drag a jig on or hope it on the bottom
ОтветитьGreat stuff I already knew but that’s why I watch videos over again, for great reminders! Great stuff Jonny!
ОтветитьREALLY WISH VIDEOS GOT TO THE POINT. VERY ANNOYING WHEN A HOST SPENDS 10 MINS SELLING STUFF, THEN TALKING BEFORE THEY FINALLY GET TO THE POINT.
ОтветитьExpensive Chinese rods are no different from cheap
ОтветитьMan I like so much fishing bass I m still learning but I really want to go fishing with someone like those guys who know a lot to learn from them
ОтветитьJimi Eaterling's discussion about fishing middle of ditches was something I've not ever considered as a primary approach. I have ended up fishing the edges of the ditches as a result of fishing points and humps but not the middle. I'm trying to make the transition from natural lakes in MN to the reservoirs of MO. I've always loved jig fishing. Jimi's discussion was an eye opener and something I will try within the week. I also enjoyed and fully agree with Matt Stefan's comment about the smaller or shorter profile. He did not add this can be done regardless the weight of the jig without losing effectiveness. It was nice to have something I've sworn by affirmed by Matt :) I'm 70 and still learning and loving time on the water. Thanks for the channel. I just stumbled upon it and have subscribed!
ОтветитьMost people that don’t do well with jigs is the same old story; not spending enough time getting good at it. This reminds me of many so called bodybuilders.
They would focused on the body parts that were genetically gifted, maybe their biceps and neglect their legs, leaving them with a non-esthetic body and looking lopsided. Another-words, if you work on your weak parts, you will eventually have them catch up to the rest of your game, and at most times it will become on of your stronger parts. These rules apply to anything in life, but the majority of people like the easy things and not work hard at others.
And thats what separates the pro from the weekend, average warriors.
Practice your weak points, and you will conquer.
Salesperson: What type of rod do you need?
Me: It has to be at least $150. That is the minimum specification recommended.
Salesperson: I’ve got just the rod you need! How many do you need?
Me: I’m not sure. He didn’t mention a quantity. He just told me the rod has to be at least $150 to catch a bass.
Salesperson: We have a $300 rod here that will catch you twice as many. How’s that sound?
Me: Do you have a $450 rod that will triple my catch?
Salesperson: God bless you son.
Do you guys use Chatterbait with the jig regularly? Also, you mention the jigs being weedless, but I get snagged up often dragging them in structure fishing a similar jig to what's shown here in the video..
ОтветитьI know I make bottom contact because they always end up snagged
ОтветитьAnd here I am catching all these bass on my football jig using a cheap ole $30 Eagle Claw rod and $20 reel from Walmart... You guys are too much with your expensive fishing gear nonsense.
ОтветитьYou need a 150$ rod to catch a fish. Right on
ОтветитьI’m more of a walleye fisherman but fish different species, occasionally bass, and some of these tips are spot on.
Jig rod is the rod that I’m going to spend more money on since sensitivity is important with that lure type. Lots of fish do not show up on sonar, especially up here in the Canadian Shield in fact I don’t even bother looking for them. That last point that the guy showed on the map with the hump and where he said he would likely start at looks like a killer spot to me as a walleye fisherman. I’ve found a couple humps similar that I could sit on all day and still be catching walleye at the end of it.
Shits bomb I love beef jerky lol
ОтветитьOnly thing I’ve ever caught on a jig was a rainbow trout, no lie.. I have yet to get a bass on one 😡 Jigs always get snagged on stuff too so there’s that. Would it be a good idea to weedless Texas rig it??
ОтветитьJohnny you are the best teacher I’m gonna try your tips cause I’m not a good jig fisherman caught my first jig on a peanut butter jelly finesse jig
ОтветитьMy favorite tip was the 2 min intro.
ОтветитьDenali makes amazing rods. It was my first expensive rod compared to the 80 and 120 dollar rods ice stocked up on. I was amazed with how much of difference this rod made.
ОтветитьI like to slowly walk the bottom with my jig.
ОтветитьThanks for this information, this is really helpful for a beginner like me. Question, when I'm fishing with lots of rocks and wood at the bottom my hook is getting stuck. How do I prevent the jig bait from getting stuck?
ОтветитьI have always fished a jig on the bottom and agree with everything you say. My question is, and I have never fished one, why would a chatterbait work? Do they need to be fished on the bottom also as the design looks like it would be difficult to fish the bottom. Thanks.
ОтветитьI’m not sold on someone saying you can’t fish jigs unless you use a $150 dollar rod. That’s ridiculous and a shameless plug for someone to by via your link. I catch a crazy amount, in fact most of my fish on a jig and a $50 dollar rod with a batecaster.
ОтветитьCan't afford $150 or $200 rod
ОтветитьJonny thank you for another superlative teaching. Love all you do! Great info on using heavier jigs. I traditionally have not used a jig greater than 3/8 oz. Of course I generally could not feel a thing! Thanks for the setup detail and equipment! Great vid!
ОтветитьLove the tutorial style videos. Also, I cannot BELIEVE on videos with this many comments you are replying to each comment.
And I practically fell out of my chair when I saw you are actually writing each comment not just a canned copy/paste reply.
What a beast. Good luck with your channel - you deserve it!
Have a sub.
For letting line out I also have that slowly lifting your rod up before you engage your reel is very effective for getting slack in your line it is also faster I think
ОтветитьI will be adjusting my techniques for sure. Thanks!!
Ответить🔥🔥🔥🎣
Ответитьi literally just started fishing....... and all of the things you said NOT to do i have done lol..... hence is the reason i can't catch any fish. thank you for this!
ОтветитьDo you have a video or can you make a video on a jig like this video? But when you're fishing a lake or pond that has a lot of weeds not grass but weeds almost no rock. Again just weeds thank you
Ответить60%, do that wrong, huh.. What, were you out on every lake and river asking every angler ? Funny, somehow you didn’t include me, so you better make that maybe 59%. Lol
Ответитьgreat info on many aspects of fishing the jig. Fabulous info from Jimi Eaterling on where to jig using the topographical map. Very informative
ОтветитьAm I fishing a jig correctly if the paint starts wearing off and there's significant wear on the head
ОтветитьLures are kinda expensive these days, and every time one hits the bottom, I get snagged and it's impossible to retrieve. Think I lost 8 or 9 last summer.
Ответитьprice point of your rod DOES NOT MATTER wth. just make sure their decent quality and take care of it. price does not equal quality
ОтветитьThanks for putting up the graphics. It always helps to see what we imagine a bait is doing displayed as you have done. Great breakdown of what size jig to use for different conditions. Very well explained as well. I just subscribed and look forward to watching other videos you offer. Take care and good fishing to you all.
ОтветитьGlad to know I've been fishing jigs the right way, thanks for the reassurance
ОтветитьNot all of us are made of money ur $100+ rods or combos for u is like $ 40-80 for us
ОтветитьGood video but we're do u get your numbers like 60%
ОтветитьKeep up the good work of making Fishing more Fun !
ОтветитьCan i ask you guys if you can swim a flipping jig? I bought a few jigs and none are swimjigs but it seem there is a small difference between jigs.
ОтветитьJigs are relatively cheap to buy and the cost of losing a few is worth the outcome big bass eat a jig they are usually solitary also living in the wood or stumpy areas
ОтветитьGreat job and jerky
ОтветитьWhat a joke please don't let this fool sway you.. if you want to overspend on line and rods go watch a pro....
Ответитьi watched old championship fishing with virgil ward and i catch fish all day
ОтветитьI am sure I haven’t been waiting long enough…and I appreciate the tip to pull additional line out. I’m not sure why I’ve never done that….
ОтветитьBass here will not touch big jigs they feel it
ОтветитьUse a light jig it's way better
ОтветитьYou can swim a jig
Ответить
