Endlessly astounding. With the Webb now online... the Standard Model and Big Bang in serious doubt. Just amazing. If I recall in correctly; the 'Standard Model' and the math behind that proposed theory garnered some really smart people a shared Nobel Prize? These devices and the boundaries that they expand. Profound. As for Galilei and the argument with the Church...? The idea of clever people/families is not new, another famous example is de Vinci. With the basic, honchos' moves seem to be gaining control of these clever minds. A sort of sociological set of experiments, if you're thinking about it, and remove your emotions. So does that notion of control, of Feudalism, factually advance peoples' causes? Not paying the bright folks what they might be worth, more money, more than likely. The Romans were into that Feudalism bit. PBS has had a number of documentaries. Or you can visit your local Public Library and read a book.... The Romans eventually ran down because they ran out. Can someone help me understand why celestial bodies, like the moon, were considered perfect or flawless? Why would Galileo be surprised looking at the moon through his telescope when we can see with our naked eye that the moon is covered in craters?
