Is a urology examination embarrassing? What MEN can expect during their urologist visit?

Ive been a patient of a female urologist for 3 years. She has yet to do male genital exam. Even when i presented with problems like ED, painful prostate, painful ejaculation and a swollen testicles & painful uirinating. Maybe its my age ( 60) she has done DRE 2x but now just reads PSA blood results. My reg doc can do this. But ill be damned if they didnt offer P. Shots & bladder stapling. I hate exams but I hate not being diagnosed early , especially if I wind up having a serious problem down the road.

I am retired and many tests by the uroloist for cancer as I have an enlarged prostate. All were negative. He said that it best to remove the prostate to prevent cancer at my age I did need it. I am getting married the first part of 2024 and she 31 years younger. Been 40 years and not a player. He advised me to be involved with someone my age where sex isn't an issue. Why are most people mostly old women an against an age gape. She is 40 so what is these old hags issue, oh and she is a Filipina and and I relocating there. Have restricted urine flow. He would not look at anything but remove it. I ask of other options but would talk about them. Was prescribed tabuluson but never real reslsulats in 4 years. Very depressed now.

Whenever I go to any doctor (and for sake of argument, we'll say urologist) I usually write down my questions or concerns so I don't have to speak and just hand them either a piece of paper (old school) or my phone with word doc (modern technology FTW) so they can read it. Normally doctor visits are a few weeks out so as long as you don't procrastinate you can gather your thoughts over several days and add more info or change anything in your written note.

To say you see man’s genitals every day is an insult. Nobody cares what you’ve seen it’s not about you it’s about the patient’s feelings. Hi urge male patients to see a Male Urologist, and not to be forced on a female urologist, you can relate and feel more comfortable with a male urologist.

I will never have a female perverted nurse or doctor get near me !!

I don’t really think a woman should be doing this job. Yes. They can technically be as good. But they don’t really understand the male psyche, nor do they care.

I have a question but assume I wont get an answer. I have no idea why with all the research I have done I have never asked. I assume I would not get an answer or would get something like the big lie. You know the old "I am a professional and dont notice or even think about it." But anyhow the question is this. Question: do you drape men when you examine them. I always see that women are given the respect to at least be draped instead of exposing them needlessly. I have never been draped and wonder as a PROFESSIONAL, do you and if not, why not. SHOULD YOU NOT GIVE THE SAME CONSIDERATION AND DECENCY TO MEN AS WOMEN.

Why would any woman want to be a urologist? I guess it’s power over, masculinity, showing authority, total beat down., Women don’t care about male nudity, however, they love the humiliation…

I feel bad for men. Your modesty is not as honored and respectful as ours. Tough luck if you have to be exposed in front of a female nurse and doctor. You are supposed to suck it up, man up, and stop complaining. The whole “we see that body part every day” doesn’t really do anything. Its not like men see her body part every day. I wouldn’t be surprised if their gynecologist is a woman or they demand/request one. At the same time your health should be more important than being embarrassed if there was no male doctor to see you. As for me I am pretty sure they’ll do what it takes to protect honor and respect my modesty.

I saw one on Zoom during Covid for testicular pain, and the dude prescribed me boner meds at 33 for no reason. He said to have fun with the Mrs. I am puzzled by urology.

I have always loved the tall tell you females give about don't be shy I do this everyday, no reason to feel strange. Look it is okay to tell this fake story but honesty is best. You say, dont worry, I do this everyday. Truth is I am not worried about you being embarrassed, after all you are getting paid. For one thing it is not your genitalia that is being exposed and men don't judge men by the size of their manhood. I even found out that some Nurse practitioner's keep journals of the size of patient's man hood. One Nurse Practitioner who actually said in front of me and my wife that her boyfriend always ask her if she saw one bigger than his today. So dont be coy, honesty is best. I am glad to see that others according to the post I see posted know this tall tell is bull. Men just know this, regardless if you end up with a female you will be the joke in the afternoon break room whether you are small or large. It is just the nature of women.

Who cares how comfortable she feels? That is of ZERO relevance. Men should not have to face this grossly insulting situation ever

My urologist is a woman and I am a man. She is a good doctor and I feel comfortable.

Guess I'm too logical but for visits to the Urologist....I'll step out and you undress from your waist down and cover with this garment. Well, the only parts which are private are the ones that you have to look at and I have already seen so covering up makes no sense? Why not just issue the patient a paper sack with two eye holes that we can place over our head to hide our embarrassment.

If I get a rectal examination, I want it to be a woman urologist, because their fingers are smaller.
