You are confusing turbo lag for boost threshold.
ОтветитьI have a discovery 2 that has a 4.0l v8 and need some advice, should I do an LS swap or go with a turbo/super charger, if the turbo/super witch one will be easier for that style of motor?
ОтветитьI’m my opinion turbo charger. It uses exhaust to spin and build boost not the crank using the crank to spin the supercharger is taking away from the motor.
ОтветитьPizza or wings?
ОтветитьSUPERCHARGER RUN HOTTER THAN TURBO.
ОтветитьWhat if we put both turbo and blower
ОтветитьGreat video!
Ответитьa point you forgot actually : weight
as if you get a very very big turbo it might weight more than a supercharger and it will most definitely slow your car because thats how physics works
Very good broadcast lots of info👍.
ОтветитьOne and only Twin Turbo with Supraaaaa
ОтветитьCan you do them at once?
ОтветитьNot me who come here because of Sucker and blower 💀
ОтветитьBlowers are you Best
ОтветитьYou are quite under informed when it comes to turbos. I am sure you are one of those people that believe in perpetual motion machines as well. You can't get something for nothing. To spin up a turbo, you are basically putting a blockage into the exhaust system. this makes the crankshaft turn harder and thus robs power from the engine. No, it is not just wasted energy coming out your exhaust pipe. Free flowing exhaust systems make more power. The supercharger and the turbo charger both take away power from the engine to make power. You say it takes 900 horsepower to run a supercharger on a dragster. Most transmissions, axles and driveshafts couldn't handle 900 horsepower. you are telling me that 900 horsepower is going through that little rubber cogged belt to run it?
Ответитьmy dad has both on his subaru wrx
ОтветитьEven Škoda has a turbo charger, so for me it's turbo charger
ОтветитьTurbos and superchargers have different classes in racing. Turbo is recommended as a track use or F1 road race. The supercharger can be modified in two ways. Just the supercharger alone creating a very known sound weeeeee, and as well as the other the blower is also from the supercharger. The blower doesnt really blow out air or the “carbon dioxide” its just like the turbo or turbo charger. The blower sucks the air giving the engine more co2 with that the engine has more torque. In the other hand turbo gives the same quality but its an instant boost because its a cylinder object with multiple turbines giving the name turbo. As the turbo sucks the air it gives instant co2 even while the car is in nutreul, as its in nutreul the tubro is still spinning with minimum amount of rpm. But the supercharger in the other hand is simular with the minimum torque as its original state. But as we all know superchargers are meant for drag due to its high powered torque. The bigger the supercharger and blower scope the more powerful and more co2 entering the engine. The supercharger just has a faster acceleration thats why its recommened for drag racing and popular among NHRA..
ОтветитьI think the supercharger is better in general, but I have an import so I go with the turbo plus the turbo sound beats the supercharger sound any day
ОтветитьWhat if you use both?
ОтветитьWhy does the thumbnail say "sucker" over the turbocharger image? They are both forced induction systems, how does this apply to one and not the other?
Ответитьthere is also a hybrid turbo where the electric motor spins the turbo at low revs or turbolag systems like on WRC Cars...
ОтветитьFun fact: Turbochargers are somehow used in Huge american Semi Trucks To Carry Heavy Loads.
ОтветитьA Supercharger and Turbos is the way to go.
Ответитьyou are completely wrong about Toyota using a little turbo to power a bigger turbo on the 2jz, its actually 2 turbos of the same size, just one is used at lower rpm and the second one comes on line past a certain boost/rpm threshold then some solenoids activate some actuators that start flowing exhaust through second turbo decreasing the back pressure and doubling the volume of air on the fresh air side. It basically goes from 1 small turbo at low rpm to 2 small turbos working as twins at higher rpm.
ОтветитьYou always have a choice.
'nobody makes a supercharger for your car'
Yea they do.
Take one from Mercedes or jaguar and make it fit.
But if you make the engine bigger you can make even more power. So you can use a turbo or charger but the bigger engine will still make power. The displament isn't replaceable
Ответить"....not your snooze-fest AP science class"......... LOL!
Ответить"Children of a state living in the midst of conflict find themselves in the hands of a deceitful, hypocritical world, viewing them as tools to maintain a line behind a curtain, under the guise of religious wars. Their tender hearts bear the burden of greed and neglect, and they are in need of voices that raise the banner of humanity to protect them and help them rebuild anew."
ОтветитьNo no no NO. It not "free energy" if it takes 140hp to run a deamon SC than (given the same PSI and CFM) a turbo needs the same work put into it as well. Exhaust gas in a motor is for the most part pushed out of the cyl on the the exhust stroke. With a turbo there you are creating a exhaust restriction. To overcome that you MUST take some of the the power made durring the power stroke to push the gasses out vs it just being able to freely flow out. Work is never free, if it was, perpetual motion engines would be an actual thing. If you dont believe me you can google tests where a motor with both a turbo and SC are dyno tested. Both have the same psi AND cfm rating. They are close to each other. One may make more HP and the other may make more TQ and the power may be in different spots but when you average the amount of "work" output is only a few % off in favor of either depending on the test.
ОтветитьI have never owned either. A friend of mine put a turbo on his LS1 GTO. He also had to upgrade drive train to handle the power.
ОтветитьIf you want max power a turbo is what you're looking for. If you want more useful power a supercharger is what you want.
It all depends on what you're going for
Use both (i think a twin screw super charger and a quad turbo is best, but thats just my opion)
ОтветитьThe sucker and the blower are quite similar to me, they dont matter as long as they are what they are.
ОтветитьIt was the title of the video for me.😂
ОтветитьTurbo raise engine effectiveness... compresor - is not...
ОтветитьYou carnt like one or the other wether you want mechanical power or intake one wines one squeeks there both have there uses and put on a good show
ОтветитьThe way I see it, turbos are parasitic, taking power from the engine to absorb air into the engine. Superchargers function differently, so you're going to get a substantial boost in speed and performance since the very beginning of a race with a consistent linear performance throughout, but turbos can catch up after reaching certain speeds.
Ответить1984 mustang gt350 with a 302 borred to 348 i know a supercharger would be smart but i really wanna do twins
ОтветитьAyo the thumbnail
ОтветитьThe thumbnail looked really interesting-
ОтветитьScrew for show, turbo for go...
ОтветитьSuperchargers are much better much easier to install instantaneous power and they're more reliable
ОтветитьHow much more horsepower would a supercharger make on a GM 6.2L engine that already makes 420 HP?
Ответитьwhat about air its free right
ОтветитьFor me lt the supa
Ответитьi really like the supercharger whine way over the turbo flutter and hope that one day i can have a big bulky supercharged muscle car
ОтветитьThere’s a reason most pro mods are switching to custom turbo setups instead of superchargers, and that’s because you can make them a lot bigger and anti-lag effectively offsets the one disadvantage of turbo spooling. Top Fuel cars use superchargers because at that point, the weight of the turbos and the weight of the intercooler are just so high that it offsets any efficiency gains a turbo can bring.
ОтветитьCan you do both at the same time?? Or will that blow up the engine??
Ответить
