Xumo Stream Box Offers Free And Paid Apps, But Who Is This Device Meant For?

$60 bucks for this and you can't side load apps? No thanks. I'll stick with my $30 android boxes.

I try it it was worthless my directtv streaming box is 100 times better

I retuned mine to Spectrum. My family didn't care it at all. I hoooked my Amazon Fire Cube back up.

So the preloaded app list is pretty big, but as you stated you can't add apps...question, can Xumo add or subtract apps with updates?

I am a Spectrum consumer, who added TV services about a week ago. This box is free for a year, but frankly, it doesn't do much, other than making it easier to change channels. Not worth a dime, customer service said I can't return it.

I love the Roku for my Spectrum app but surfing for channels without a keypad on the remote is annoying. I might give this a try just for the remote!!

The lady at Spectrum tried selling me on a Xumo box after I returned my cable boxes. When I asked her if you could install on a Fire TV or Firestick, her answer was "it depends." I didn't wanna get into and ask her questions But they do push those Xumo boxes cause if you don't have a Samsung TV or a roku, maybe chromecast, but those are the only ways to get the Spectrum App on a TV.

Charter offered ROKU free to save money, Spectrum offered a free XUMO box and no ROKU! It has a nice remote but no app store, I don't use it.

I’m a Spectrum subscriber, and getting Xumo was a no brainer. I had 4 Spectrum receivers in my house at $11/month per box. Thats $528 a year that will disappear of my bill. The 4 Xumo boxes I bought will pay for themselves in 6 months, and I own them forever.

I got a plain 64gb Android box side loaded it and I love it. 42.00 on Amazon runs great for me

This is the same OS as the Sky stream in the UK.

My question is cuz I live in Canada if I chose to go with this would I need to use a VPN because I cannot sideload I won't be using it but just asking would you need a VPN

If you are a Spectrum subscriber, I'd rather sign up for the Stremium app, where you can bundle Spectrum and other TV providers in with free channels and get a decent cloud DVR for cheap. This box is a bunch of nonsense. This is just Comcast's attempt at being too late to the party. Btw. Comcast bought XUMO some time ago.
