This aged well... forms of social credit scores is already in use... for some insurance companies and property developers..in South Africa.
like they say, you will own nothing...have no privacy and be happy.

A fascinating video Nelio. This is so important, now more than ever. Our societies are being built around our data in every respect. This is a good thing if done right, we'll develop at unseen rates in the future. However, security is paramount.
It seems like the Wild West out there right now when it comes to GDPR, data security etc. I've huge respect for those doing what they can to spread awareness on the matter!

so.. what is the argument here? i'm confused, he's not explaining anything, i thought we will start with like, history of private ownership and classical liberalism or anything like that

The world he describes in the end is a world I would like to live in.

Moral of the story: Don't take out loans you can't repay, read the fine print and know what you are getting into.
On another note, in a country with no privacy laws, where company's harass people, the collective understanding of the injustice would garner sympathy toward the individual and lessen the shame brought on by public companies harassing individuals. So in the end, the society would find a balance.

Yes another "pro-privacy" video that does not make a good argument for privacy.

saying you do'nt need privacy coz u have nothing to hide is no different saying u do'nt care about freedom of speech as u have noting to say

The biggest problem is capitalism until we get rid of it and private property and instead put in the idea of personal property and opens source none of this will change

Undoubtedly these companies are information gathering to exploit/entice/victimize the general population... And showing a desire (by governments) to adopt China’s “social credit score.” This is all being set up to further exploit/vilify (especially) the poor and/or the uneducated or under-educated. I still think I don’t care

I don't get the premise of this argument... 'do you want the world where... x y z'?- no I don't, that's why we have to read T&Cs and not accept what we don't want! It's so simple. Just because some people cannot manage a thing isn't an excuse for absolute prohibition of that thing.

An eye opener talk.i always remain concerned about my privacy and hate the police thinking produced by internet companies.

Really interesting. I don't think people think they have anything to hide until some of their personal information gets into bad actors hands. Targeted advertising is one thing, but they're not the only ones getting access to our data.

To quote Glenn Greenwald's TED Talk: "Over the last 16 months, as I've debated this issue around the world, every single time somebody has said to me, "I don't really worry about invasions of privacy because I don't have anything to hide." I always say the same thing to them. I get out a pen, I write down my email address. I say, "Here's my email address. What I want you to do when you get home is email me the passwords to all of your email accounts, not just the nice, respectable work one in your name, but all of them, because I want to be able to just troll through what it is you're doing online, read what I want to read and publish whatever I find interesting. People are just typing in questions that they would never ask another person’s, yet, here they are at their computer that the internet is a source of all knowledge,

They have no idea that anyone is recording this stuff that they’re searching for…
