They did consider getting rid of wigs a few years ago but one of the reasons they kept them was for 'disguise'.
ОтветитьI am making a telegram grp where we can talk about life, love, spirituality, sexuality, relations, society, history, science, etc. Want to join?
ОтветитьAnd we all know a hot day in the uk is 18c/65f.
ОтветитьI would make then where Burberry shorts Louis Vuitton shoes Mark jealous shirt
ОтветитьActualy it was meant to hide there identity in a court case so ppl wouldn’t know who they are
But now they are symbolic
Judges & barristers are not lawyers 🤦🏻♂️😂
ОтветитьJudge that's not the law
I Am the LAW!
Boi we still say lawyers
ОтветитьActually I have a very big question I want you to answer for me
ОтветитьI thought it was so they look old and get respect
ОтветитьWasn't the other main reason was LICE? Like people had to SHAVE THEIR HEAD due to the lice epidemic?
ОтветитьWait British judges actually still wear wigs
ОтветитьSo they had STDs
Ответитьwe say lawyers… are you ok..?
ОтветитьSyphilis. That's europe for ya'.
ОтветитьNa lawyers are the same here in the u.k
ОтветитьHi

ОтветитьY’all hear that bass
ОтветитьBecause they're stuck in the 18th century, duh.
ОтветитьBest way to explain any topic. Start it...Sum it up...Reason...Perfect!!!
ОтветитьThe thing is... they dont
ОтветитьA barrister is not another name for a lawyer, it defines a particular career in law.
ОтветитьBarristers are higher than lawyers solicitors are lawyers
ОтветитьBarrister is not the British term for lawyer. They have lawyers.
ОтветитьThey ain't wigs
ОтветитьIt's probably when the french and the Brits attacked the Netherlands and they had this wig trend
ОтветитьBrit here, we all wear them
ОтветитьOur Magistrates and District judges only wear it on ceremonial occasions, while High, Appeal and Supreme Court judges always wear them.
From Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
Bigwigs
Ответитьbut... do they wear wigs?
ОтветитьIt was a way of retaining some anonymity for barristers / judges etc outside of the courts.
ОтветитьRidiculous BS
Ответитьcause of lice... so simple idk why you have to say something different in the video..
ОтветитьIt's part of the British's inability to let things go.
ОтветитьThe UK courts should make it a choice whether a barrister wants to wear a wig or not, it should not be forced on people to wear them.
ОтветитьWig court
ОтветитьI thought it was for disguise so convicted felons and their family members couldn't seek retribution at a later date.
ОтветитьAs an American its hard not to laugh at the wigs
ОтветитьTo disguise themselves as most are gatekeepers of the banking zoo.
Ответитьno, I haven't
ОтветитьI think it makes court procedures look pretty goofy. The opposite of solemn
ОтветитьAnd here’s yet another thing I never learned in school.
ОтветитьAnyone else feel like the wig thing is monkey business? Court is just a bunch of monkeys in wigs finding an obscure way to create a pecking order.
ОтветитьWill you wear wigs?
ОтветитьWhen will you wear wigs?
ОтветитьI saw somewhere it has more of a reason to do with allusion of power and divinity. No mortal man can take another man to trial, so they wear those silly wigs to cloak their immoral human nature while a man in trial is expected to take his hat off, which is hypocritical. Thats what I found, and i can go on about the rest of the attire and what the standing up and all means too
ОтветитьBecause they can argue like women
ОтветитьThey was trying to hair hair like color ppl
ОтветитьHey! as a postgrads student writing my thesis on theatricalith in the courtroom and wanting to focus on clothing (especially the judges') where can I find sources on what you've said? thnx
