My brother was a preemie, back when preemies didn’t usually live. We had a little Pomeranian/dachshund mix that alerted my mom that the baby was choking. From then on he would sneak into the bassinet or crib and guard the baby. Slept right beside him. Dad caught him in there one day and got ready to punish the dog, but Mom said, “He saved your son’s life! Leave him alone!” He would keep the baby covered, and howl when the baby cried. He snuggled with the baby all night long.❤️

I have a pitbull lab mix. When she was just 6 months old she saved my life. I was sitting in my car waiting for my son to come out of the store this white van parks 2 parking spaces away from me and got out of the car and started walking towards me. Unbeknownst to him my pup was laying down in the passenger seat beside me. She heard the gravel crunch jumped up and barked like a 90 pound dog growled and bared her teeth the hair on the back of her stood straight up. Well let's just say the man wasn't long about getting back in his van and leaving.
