That G Phrygian Hits Hard👀
ОтветитьThese are great! They each need to be longer. Just as soon as I get into the groove it's time for the next one. Thanks. Great idea!
ОтветитьI really enjoyed playing through this, it was great for my mind ears and fingers. I know I’m repeating the slant of some comments by saying this, but… G Ionian-use sharps, F Dorian use flats, G pryg use flats, G lyd use sharps, G Mixo no sharps or flats, G aeolian use flats and G locrian use flats. I’m sure you know this already, but it helps to understand the related scales to each mode.
Great stuff. I’m looking forward to checking out your other videos.
This is an excellent practice tool. The only downside is that the note names on the fret board are wrong most of the time. For anyone trying to learn the theory here, it will be confusing, for example, to try and justify A# as the flattened 3rd in relation to G dorian, phrygian, Aeolian or Locrian. Same goes for the other scale degrees. Otherwise this is brilliant.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьG Ionian = G Major/E minor
G Dorian = F Major/D minor
G Phrygian = Eb Major/C minor
G Lydian = D Major/ B minor
G Mixolydian = C Major/A minor
G Aeolian = Bb Major/G minor
G Locrian = Ab Major/F minor
Whooaa- this one one gives (11) mins. between tokes!!
ОтветитьI found this video really useful, thank you!!
ОтветитьМне очень нравятся ваши треки , но например мне как новичку интересно какие сочитания нот вы играете ... Не могли бы вы их отмечать во время минуса ?
ОтветитьAlterations from the major scale:
Ionian(major): none
Dorian: b3 b7
Phrygian: b2 b3 b6 b7
Lydian: #4
Mixolydian: b7
Aeolian(minor): b3 b6 b7
Locrian: b2 b3 b5 b6 b7
Also would be cool to see the circle of fifths up there showing the key
ОтветитьGreat video!! THank you for the help!!
ОтветитьI know this is mostly for guitar, but I'm a keyboard player and I love it.
ОтветитьBest Backtrack. Thanks
ОтветитьExcellent!! Very helpful.
ОтветитьMantap
ОтветитьChord progressions would be great to see how each mode fits over those chords. Great exercise to jam along to.
ОтветитьThis is great I really benefit from practicing to this. Also I think it would be helpful if you would include the chords progression that are being played in each mode . Cheers
ОтветитьWere some modes only for minor. Chords
ОтветитьI thought the point of modes was, say if you're in G Ionian(the major scale), the modes of G would be A dorian, B Phrygian, C Lydian, etc, as each note in the G scale becomes a starting/ending point for a new scale(mode). So for G Ionian, if we want a dorian feel, we'd start/resolve on 'A', while playing the same notes of the G major scale. If we wanted an exotic Phyrigian, we'd start/end on B', Lydian on C, etc. That way you can play all these modes without changing the key you're in, cause its all still the same notes of G, just starting and ending on different notes of the G.
ОтветитьOh my goodness Chusss....
I finally get it. Now i understand the order of the modes 1-7.... like dorian is number 2 bc its the 2nd note of the scale or lydian is number 4 bc its the 4th note of the scale... now it all makes sense...no more plucking arnd the board looking for that 1st position anymore
You're a great teacher whether you mean to be or not
Thank you from my heart for all you do for us
Many blessings your way 🙏🙏🙏

ОтветитьGreat track thanks. I'd love to know what chords are being played as my ear is not that great yet. I understand certain chords bring out the modal flavour so would love to learn which ones thank you in advance!

ОтветитьThank You! If i would play in A and use mode scale for A, for example, can I use this same scales on fret, just move on 2 frets?
