Open blade design. I prefer a ducted fan (or blades) design. It just looks safer and in some applications it can improve thrust.

A flying deathtrap. Unlicensed pilots, flying in bad or stormy weather...? Like taking a motorcycle to work when it is icy or in a heavy rainfall/storm.

It saves
Billions of minutes wasted in road jams
Billions on wasting land for making + maintaining of roads
Billions of energy wasted in carrying dead weight of 1000-3000kg vehicles for just 70-350kgs passengers
Billions on migrating people towards city which will make everything affordable

This is a fundamentally bad idea. But what do I know? I'm just a certified aviation maintenance tech. Even larger than the design challenges are the safety implications. I'm not really concerned if rich people want to kill themselves by doing stupid things with carbon fiber but I don't want them dropping on my head and killing me in the process.
PAVs will be toys for rich people and not so rich people with poor financial sense. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Go learn to fly a real helicopter and stop being lazy! There will never be highways in the sky like Back to the Future II. People can't even control a vehicle in 2 dimensions. FSD is a joke because that problem is exponentially harder than Musk pretends.
I was thinking about putting an electric motor on my ELSA but I did the math and realized nothing is worth the risk of an inflight lithium ion battery fire.

It will never happen. 1 falls out of the air and ots over. I guess those blades are safe to walk into? I don't trust a human animal meat bag to walk across the street. Give them a flying drone. It's not a car. I travel from my villa estate in Tuscany every day. Nothing to see here

Still not delivered a year later. Also 3 miles is silly. Needs to do at least 30 miles. 20 minutes is a joke

cool and amazing idea and engineering but so air travel in 2018 had about a 30% of delayed flights due to staff shortages what do you think it would do adding thousands of flights everyday with personal carriers the same system? and simply adding more atc staff when it takes 2-5 months depending on experience to graduate and 2-4 years to get fully certified so how is this logically a beneficial project aside from military, rescue wouldnt be an option because of the limit in weight alone, civilian would be like giving a bunch of 12 year olds adult fireworks a lighter and just hoping for the best

I have an evtol idea concept that was being submitted that does say that it's supposed to be one that does a above water and underwater submersible ability turns it into a submarine and the electric waterproof engines that we're going to be housed on it you will be able to land at the top of the surface then you will slowly start taking water onboard you have your swim air tank sitting next to you and you have a little bit of time underwater you can play with exchangeable batteries that you would have to be out of the water to switch out but there is a rumored concept vehicle that is an amphibious version of this Mass producing an aquatic arrow vehicle

Why all the videos from Jetson so snazzy looking? Like they been carefully edited with engine and ambient sound removed. Where is all the low quality smartphone videos of a full flight from it yet?

I don’t know. It seems to fly much smoother than most drones I have seen. It’s like it’s not affected by turbulence or differences in air densities like most things would be. Either the videos are faked CGI or they are using highly exaggerated videos that over sell what it is capable of. I have a feeling it’s a mixture of CGI and exaggerated videos. Buyers beware. I would wait till real people start using it and not rely on snazzy marketing videos that look too good to be real.

Some personal air vehicles need improvement to support the pilot’s weight up to 300lbs so that more people can fly them instead of having a severely limited weight capacity of 200lbs, because I too may like to fly the jetson one
