Cummins had us Ford guys for a bit when it came to power. The 6.7l power strokes changed the game for sure though for diesels. These new HO 6.7s expanding that gap even more. I personally run a tuned 7.3l powerstroke. Going to upgrade it further and try to hit 500 hp rwhp, but should easily hit 450 rwhp. running about 330-340 rwhp right now on my hottest/race tune.

Just need to delete these new HO 6.7s and throw in a Banks cold air intake, then run a tune (+15hp) and you should get around 550 hp. Not completely sure but seems reasonable. Of course turbo upgrades and a higher hp tune can crush that 550 hp number. I wonder what the torque numbers would be? 1400 ft lbs??

hi, great test. I wrote down, 39.9÷18.2=2.19 gallons . 2.19 gallons ×$6 per gallon of diesel(california price)=$ $13.15 usd. to drive 39.9 miles. that's not bad. I'm looking into a custom build "2024 Digitally generated image shown. Actual vehicle may vary. See dealer for details. Super Duty® F-450® Limited Change Model Paint Color S4 Star White Metallic Tri-Coat $995 2024 Super Duty® F-450® Limited Summary $116,190 . my question is did you apply or add a Ford Xplan pin to your trucks purchase?

A better (as in more accurate) test would be to calculate the actual mpg, instead of assuming the dash display is honest and accurate. My F150 is typically 1 mpg less (and sometimes even a little worse than that) vs the display.

I don’t understand why people are doing these 2023 power stroke mpg tests. These diesel engines get better mpg as they are driven. My 2013 powerstroke kept getting better until I hit over 50K miles.

It would be interesting to see what the mileage is if you were to never go over 65 mph and stayed on flat roads using hyper driving techniques. That's probably pretty close to what you were doing here.

F450 is an absolute beast. I love mine and would never have a 3500 or 350. Those just don't come close to the ability of this truck in every detail. I've owned a 150, 250, 350, a GMC 3500, and now the F450. Hello... NO WAY I'd ever go back to any of those previous trucks. On my last 600 mile trip, I AVERAGED 15 MPG. Up and down hills from California to Arizona to Nevada and back again. Wife drives the truck on highway at 75 mph most of the time. Impressive numbers.

Driving a HD truck at these insane speeds is just stupid. Not only are you wasting fuel, you are putting yourself and others in danger! None of these trucks can stop as fast as a high performance sports car!

MPG's in a F450 empty is of very little validity for me and many others. I bought mine to tow. If I want to run empty up & down the freeway & want good mpg's; I would have bought a F150 or Ranger. On my break-in trip with my F350 7.3L gasser I got 17.5mpg going 65mph for ~485 miles. Lot less $$$ if I want a Super Duty & run empty. But I bought it to tow a 8400# trailer.

I've got a 2023 F350 XL FX4 with the 6.7 HO. I get 17~19mpg on the highway while doing 80mph, and I'm doing about 150rpm lower with the 3.31 rear end. I chose the lower ratio rear end to help keep good highway mpg, and figure the extra hp/torque will counter that when I have a large trailer on. Mine is to get around my property in the mountains and tow a tractor + trailer in and out as needed.
