When does the funny part start?

During my Air Force training, we went out into the field and were told we'd be attacked by the army. This was about 2am. It was also near Hereford. Guess who trains out of Hereford.

The SAS!

So, it ended up that we were being attacked by the SAS. We were a bunch of mostly 16 year old new recruits being attacked by the elite forces of the British military at 2am on a pitch black November night. Yes, it was scary AF.

Well, the reason I'm writing this is because as I was emptying my magazine of blanks into the oncoming horde, my mate next to me starts screaming that he'd been hit. I told him to get a grip and carrying on firing, but he insisted he'd been hit. Once the chaos was over and we'd fended off the special forces, I turned to my mate and asked him to show me where he'd got hit. I shone my torch at him and there was blood everywhere. It turns out that one of my white hot 7.62mm cases had ejected right onto the side of his head, slicing open the first thing it came into contact with.

As you can imagine, we all found it hilarious... except for him, but he was a bit of an arsehole anyway, so, what you gonna do?

That was 34 years ago now. Damn.
