Can this process also be used for solid carbide drills? Or do I need a different wheel than what I would use for HSS?
Ответитьfuck that explains it so much better than anyone thats tried to teach me. props for the profile shot in the corner. it helped!
ОтветитьToo bad the video spent about 8.5 minutes buffering lol
ОтветитьSorry totally old fashion
ОтветитьThank you - I got great results using this approach and I only had a dremal to sharpen the bit with.
Ответитьthe magic is in your dexterity sir
ОтветитьFastest way is to buy a drill doctor. I know exactly how to do it on a grinder, but the drill doctor is so much faster and easier, especially on small bits.
ОтветитьThis video is truly remarkable in that we are given just what the title promises without being exposed to the maker's ego. Also in that not one second is wasted. Absolutely extraordinary.
ОтветитьThis really helped me. Thanks
ОтветитьCrazy. Perfekt freehand scharpening
ОтветитьIts hard as fxxk..
Dont over do it
don't have the rotating tools.... can I use sand papers instead?

Good video, but a before and after performance test on a piece of plate steel would of made it a great video.
ОтветитьWhat wheel you have?
Exact grit maybe? If you know?
Fudge , thats 1 good looking pc .
ОтветитьI was going to spend about $35 on a machine that did just that. I'm going to by a tabletop grinder now. Thank you sir.
ОтветитьThis is good 🤘
ОтветитьIf you are going to work on stainless steel then the angle is very important. Doing by hand without a angle setup jig one will not get it consistently right.
ОтветитьThis is the best video out there on drill sharpening
Ответитьwhen i did my fitter machinest apprenticeship i had to sharpen drill bits in year 1 started off with a long bit and eventually got near down to the smooth part of the shank before i passed lol
ОтветитьLooks easy, but its not, if you loose the center core, waste a bit of your time.
ОтветитьVery bad
Ответить“Drill at approximately 30 degrees!” By hand? How ? Where is 30 degrees??? I just wish I find a video that will tell me how to sharpen a drill bit and explain how to find the angle for it…
ОтветитьI'm good at friction drilling
Ответить🕊️👌
ОтветитьThis another way to sharpen drill bits. it is done with ease and a good way to sharpen quickly. The video is made well.
But a drill bit sharpened in this manner is weaker when it comes to heavy drilling. By grinding the back of the cutting edge very steep the stability of the cutting edge is weakened. You lose a good amount of back pressure from the drill spiral. The cutting edge could not distribute all the cutting force into the spiral and it heats up in a shorter time. The possibility that the edge will crack is much higher especially at the outer flange. This occurs most with diameters from 16 mm and up. Where you have a slow spindle speed with a strong feed rate.
That's my experience.
If you stick the flats of two large nuts together with superglue, the resulting 'V' is the correct grinding angle. Good vid Thx!
ОтветитьLike a charm.
ОтветитьGood job 🥀🌹🌹🥀🥀🥀🥀🌹🌹🥀🥀🥀🌹🌹🥀🌺🍁⚘🌷⚘⚘🥀🌹🌹🥀🥀🥀🌹🌹🌹🥀🥀
ОтветитьYou do it light enough that it doesn't heat up the bit?
ОтветитьGreat! Just saved me some $$. Thanks Thomas. Subscribed.
ОтветитьSüper
ОтветитьSir mae ne kal company mei work ke time drill sharp krte krte pareshan hua .krrhi hee nhi paya tha
ОтветитьDoes the tip of the drill need re-hardening after sharpening? ie. heating up and dipping in oil?
ОтветитьThankyou very much, just used your technique it's simple and effective! Cheers!
ОтветитьAbsolutely amazing, best drill sharpening tutorial I’ve seen by far
ОтветитьThis is far from easy. How many everyday, garden variety DIY-ers have a grinding wheel like this in their garage? I don't think I've ever seen one outside of a very well equipped shop.
ОтветитьBu matkap çok çabuk aşınma yaratır uçların ağzını az boşaltırsan dereceyi doğru verip ağzını daha sağlam hale gelir daha uzun süre dayanır
ОтветитьIn order to sharpen the cutting edge you have to tilt vertically the drill by 7-10° ! Otherwise it won't cut at all.
If you have a 135° drill, your horizontal angle is 22,5°.
The heel angle should be approximately 30-35°
Best video, thank you 👍👍
ОтветитьIn my case to be exactly, the angle from the stone has to be 22.5°, cause my drill bit's peak has a 135° angle grind.
ОтветитьWie nennt man diesen Anschliff?
ОтветитьFinally, a video straight to the point. No nonsense music, nor verbose rhetoric. No children. No dogs. No advertising. Thank you.
ОтветитьI can't keep my hands that steady, even with a rest.😂
ОтветитьBest video about this, thank you for not wasting time.
ОтветитьLooking at the face of the grindstone, you have no idea how to use it properly. You should be ashamed, let alone put it on public show!!
Ответитьvery bad video this creates a very brittle cutting edge. not recommended
ОтветитьInteresting.....another way to sharpen a drill.
