ОтветитьOk... there is a calculation mistake... your have considered power consumption of 3450w for calculation I amp in your calculation... this can not justify that... if your powered factor improves then you then you amp reduced relatively or in some other way. May be PF gets increase @0.95 and amp gets as low as 12/15 then your power consumption will go down.

Smaller current means less wire losses in service and riser cables but not necesseraliy in the house wiring. The reactive current may pendulum back and forth between outlets causing wire losses.
The capacitor will "suck in" harmonics and spikes and thus work as an AC conditioner. But there is a real risk of capacitor overheating if the AC is polluted. Best mount the capacitor in a metal box and equip it with a fuse. Overheating capacitors may short and explode.

The power supply is AC. If we connect the capacitor as shown in video, it will act like a load. This will increase the bill.

ОтветитьYou are using the same power with improved power factor to calculate current, and then again, you are calculating the power using the calculated current. In this, you will get the same power.
Energy meter calculates the power consumption of active power. Theorically, the capacitance load will deal with reactive power. Therefore, there will not be any noticeable change in meeter reading. But improving the power factor will help to reduce the current in the line. This is good for the supplier as the voltage drop will be reduced in the supplying line.

ОтветитьI am skeptical about this. I am an Electrical Engineer and understand what a capacitor will do in the US. Most modern large load/motor devices already have a Start Capacitor that takes up the initial load surge. Unlike motor loads (HVAC, Well Pump, etc.), most electronic devices have such a slight surge that this won't be worth it. IMO, upgrading old non-LED lighting, fixing insulation, updating windows, and putting timers (WIFI/automated) on some items will save you a lot more money.
