Leader of Cardiff Council on Road User Payment Proposals and Consultation

With there now being an agreement in principle to explore options for a Road User Payment Scheme, the Leader of Cardiff Council, Cllr Huw Thomas, talks about the thinking behind putting proposals forward, and the next steps in terms of consultation and engagement.

“Now is the time to have that honest, mature conversation about what our city and its transport system needs to look like for the future. We're at an early stage in the process and I urge everybody to engage with the questions that we will be putting to the city. We know that congestion is hurting our environment, our health and our economy, so let's recognise that big challenges require bold solutions”
