I wish that Derek or Steve explained the reason/motivation to why they killed Vito’s father.

1) They didn't address how Vito got away with killing a capo of a rival family and his crew

2) Would have been so much better if Steve turned on Derek here and obviously later explained to Vito what really happened to his dad. That he tried to help him escape, performed a mock execution but he ultimately fell into the ocean and drowned....
