Do furry's support therians?

I started using the term therian a year ago to describe other forms of lycanthropy and then a few months ago it blew up on my dash.

Should I/can I still use therian to describe such characters in my fantasy world? (Also note, i can't use werebeast because were creature and thropy are two separate things in my world)
