What kind of mesh u bought
ОтветитьReally nice job on the cages. I like how they will be easier to store then round ones, thank you for sharing. They are winners.
ОтветитьBest design I've seen. Bravo!
Ответить$5 Per post is barely low cost unless you only have a couple plants.
Ответитьlove it! thank you!!
ОтветитьIt works I have some designed this way also
ОтветитьRe-mesh, not road mesh. Reinforcement mesh or reinforcement wire. Good post!
ОтветитьThanks, great idea
ОтветитьGreat idea, I'll make these this growing season. The standard 54" round cages I got from "The Big Box Store" were very disappointing last year. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing your Tutorial, am inspired to make these! Hats off to your teenage helper- positive, appears eager to help and respectful. Put a smile on my face today:)
ОтветитьWood chips suck nitrogen from the soil mate. Get that stuff out of there.
ОтветитьGood Idea but you waste 18 in per cage. If you just loop the ends of the cut piece instead of cutting them off you could gain another 6 in per panel.
ОтветитьI cage my after a last mounding of the plant
Ответитьhey bud good idea. try useing uv wire zip ties strong super eeezee.
ОтветитьThat'll certainly work. Mine collapse as well. Was just looking to put mine together and saw I had this twine and decided to use it. Lasted just fine throughout the season even with several nasty storms with 70 mph winds that whipped through our backyard. Good luck!!
ОтветитьI cut mine just like yours just one major change I used galvanized 1/4 inch split washers to join them all together( like hinges),and they collapse for easy storage.
ОтветитьOh, get rid of the wood chips. They harbor disease and as fungus breaks down dead wood it sucks nitrogen from the soil.
ОтветитьLooks good. I will be doing just a V shape this time instead of a triangle. I will be trellising the tomatos vertically and pinching off the suckers. As for soil, I recommend using a mixture of milled peat moss and perlite / vermiculite. I add a top dressing of compost made from Fall leaves. I fertilize with organic EB Stone with mycorrhiza. For calcium, I put crushed egg shells in the hole I plant the tomatoes in.
