So where does the venturi pull from?
ОтветитьSaw A&B Dual Cam Heads yesterday at El Cajon show.
WOW
Ram effect at 400 mph is about 1.4 psi at sea level. 15% less at 5000 ft elevation.
ОтветитьMany engine gurus use standard machine shop tools. My shop is comprised of vintage machine tools. I used a round ram Bridgeport to do the work on Cummins diesel heads. These guys have tremendous amounts of knowledge about engines.
ОтветитьI've learned more from you guys than any other place thank you for your time and blessing us with this kind of out of the box ingenuity!Truly a pleasure to watch❤
ОтветитьVery cool. Good luck
ОтветитьA lot of People just want more Volume, but Volume isn't the whole Picture. Velocity is just as important as Volume if not more important.
ОтветитьHello from Oamaru Sth island New Zealand.
Do you advise to dress head gasket with Hylomar spray on prior to installation?.
I'm replacing a gasket on my 2012 Nissan Navara D40 St-X Diesel common rail turbo engine
Use "lost foam" techniques and cast them...
ОтветитьCan you help me connect with Pete and Kevin?
ОтветитьGreg can you get a video with Pete and Kevin talking about how they get their custom crankshafts and other internals made?
ОтветитьWhat software is he using for design?
ОтветитьThese are good guys.
ОтветитьThese are the guys I wish I was.
ОтветитьWith age vast amounts of knowledge. With starting young with good principles knowledge and practices
ОтветитьWhat are the mid lift numbers? Do you wet flow these? Thanks
Ответить❤❤❤❤ wish I could work on that project. Grateful for people like you! Thanks
Ответитьtolong sampaikan salam saya kepada mereka ,saya amat amat kagum dengan mereka, saya doakan semoga mereka dan anda sentiasa sihat dan teruskan perjuangan mencipta rekod dunia....salam dari malaysia
ОтветитьThese old timers kinda seem and look like shadetree mechanics. Yet produce stuff like rocket scientists
ОтветитьIt takes a gazillion dollars and a cadre of degreed engineers in Detroit to do what a couple of old guys are doing in a Southern California garage. Talk about return on investment.
ОтветитьNo word to say but congratulations because tm enjoy your videos
ОтветитьHave y’all looked at passive pre-chamber ignition? I’m supposing that’s where much of the gain in F-1 bsfc and eliminating detonation has come from, but, information is apparently proprietary, like everything else in F-1.
ОтветитьIf you had to pay for that 3D test piece, that bill would be $7500+ just in Labor
ОтветитьThese guys are great , To bad some of the top name guys wont help them out with some current technology information. It would save them alot of time and work , and make their engines run better. I see somethings that could be improved , and Ive been out of race engine business 10 Years.
ОтветитьI'm skipping through the video while typing at work, so forgive me if I'm missing something but: the VK56 can be sleeved to 6.1L and it's valvetrain is stable past 10,000rpm. I love the level of development going on here, but that should have you on the ground and running.
ОтветитьThese guys are geniuses!
ОтветитьThank you so much for making these videos. There is SO much knowledge packed into these videos. Awesome!!!
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьNice guys , the secrets of Race Engines . No wonder they go so fast . Possibly the only Head that l know of that comes close 2 these guys is from Greg at Hammerhead Head Performance in Georgia. And its a 2 valve head 4 a SBF . But it wouldn't be making 1300 hp . Think he is over 1000 hp on a 429 cu inch platform. Not sure what fuel he is running.
Worth a Peep . Looking forward 2 more content & 2 see how close 2 400 mph these lovely old guys come 2 that mark . Thx Robert Australia
These guys are a national treasure.
ОтветитьFor anyone else curious, 353.825mph is the A/GS streamliner record. Currently held by Spirit of Rett.
ОтветитьWhy not direct titanium or aluminium 3D-printed of these intakes?
ОтветитьPlease don’t Stop making Videos with these Men. The Wealth of Knowledge is Unbelievable. Thanks.

ОтветитьIt would be awesome if someone made a modern Hall scott engines, large displacement gas engines, 5" bore 7" stroke, and more, I'm curious what opposite measurements would be like, 5" stroke with 7" bore, maybe titanium piston? Has anyone done that? Piston weight will become a issue eventually, as a engine speed limiting factor anyway, 7"-8" should be ok with modern piston design,
6k should be reachable, 12 cylinders. With 8" bore and up to 8" stroke, could be a monster, I'd love to see a 2srroke gas engine like that,. Similar to the old Detroit diesel engines, a direct injected gas, 2stroke gas engine! Could be spicy possibly 6-8valves per cylinder, 3 intake 3exhaust , maybe 4, using traditional valves, but I have seen a rotating valve that is both in and out, also the combustion chamber, it can offer much more flow, possibly the open port uncovering the spark plugs, while in the ignition position, using a worm gear, to spin the valve in each chamber, the valve could open a large high flow port, with a 8" bore, a 4" port possibly, but two 3" would probably be best, allowing one to be closed at low rpm, to increase the velocity, for low rpm TQ, to 2500-3k rpm, 5k would probably be the limit with such a long stroke, heavy components! But even a 6-8 cylinder would be a monster! Maybe shortening the stroke to about 4"-5" and 5-6k should be no problem, maybe 7k RPM,
These 2 guys are amazing and so are you for bringing this too us. Your doing a great job of getting them to talk and asking the right questions.
Ответить500ci nhra prostock motors making over 1500hp na. Thats with a 2V pushrod engine
ОтветитьKinda surprised he used Bobcad for this. I figured he would have been using Solidworks because of how good their simulations are
ОтветитьToo bad these guys have not studied fluid dynamics.
They could take advantage of these heads and bring them up to modern levels.
Ultra pro heads has a small block cylinder heads that flows 440CFM’s from a small block single valve.
what i love about these guys...look around their shop. no specialty engine machines, just bridgeport mills. just goes to show, where there's a will there's a way.
ОтветитьHow much HP does ram air give at 354 mph?
ОтветитьTwo is company four is a crowd.
ОтветитьWill it bolt to a SBC?
ОтветитьSo folks are running Buick straight 8's in a LSR class . Did you ever consider making a twin overhead cam head for a straight 8?
ОтветитьThis is just amazing to me.I love these videos. Makes me think of Harry Miller back in the 1930's( minus the 3D printing of coarse)
ОтветитьWoW! Love it !! 👍
ОтветитьDown here in Australia we've got the Ford 4 lt inline 6 cylinder Barra engine with dohc & 4 valves per cylinder & I've always wondered if it'd be possible to make an 8 lt 60° V12 out of 2 of them cos they're cheap & plentiful & put out reasonable power......
ОтветитьMaybe also look at head designs from superbike engines. Those are probably the highest power/capacity mass produced NA 4stroke engines out there. I'm thinking bmw S1000RR, Ducati Pannigale, Yamaha R, Hayabusa, etc.
Don't know if things change tho when the capacity of the cylinders get (way) higher.
Cool project!
