I actually prefer the healed look, it looks more like its part of your skin instead of a picture laid on top of it

In my experience the type of your skin also makes a difference. I am lucky to have a skin that holds color very good. I have tattoos over 35years old who still look good.

Can using a moisturiser with petroleum or alcohol cause your tattoo to fade even though you didn't use it for too long

Maybe im weird, but i actually LIKE how tattoos look when they a bit faded. To me it just makes everything look more natural, more blended with the person it belongs to. A super bright tattoo just looks cartoonish and obnoxious.

Keep it shaved and moisturised and it will look good. Still won't look the same as fresh, but it's not supposed to, and that's true of monochrome tattoos too.

You should try out/ review the H2Ocean tattoo line of products! Super good reviews and they seem pretty unknown/ underrated. They actually use smal amounts of sea salt, sourced from the Red Sea, in their products. Which have been proven to aid in healing, And itch relief from the healing process. They seem to be the only company that have a product that not only moisturizes and disinfects tattoos, but also aids in the healing process itself.

Every tattoo artist is going to wanna buy the best quality black ink not all buy good quality colours and know how to pack colour if your artist knows what he’s doing with colour and buys good ink then your coloured tattoo with care is gonna look good, likewise if you want your BnG tat to look good you still have to care for it, moisturizing early stages especially and being weary of sun using sun cream, don’t submerge in water ect people that say this obviously don’t have an artist that fw colour

I will say I've had my full color saturation leg tattoo for almost 2 years and it still looks extremely vibrant! SUNSCREEN is the key and constantly moisturizing. I also have a B&G forearm tattoo and really it's the same. Both tattoos need to be moisturized in order to be vibrant and keep it's detail!

Depends also on skin tone. Obviously once skin grows over it the colour isn't as bright. But lots of the shitty poorly aged tattoos and black and grey, and on white skinned people, so...

My most recent colour tattoo just finished healing and it's looking so dang pretty 💚
Got a fern leaf on my right arm. 🌿Going to go for a semi-sleeve (so not every single bit of skin covered) in forest theme.

Environment plays a big factor on how a color tattoo will look. Color tattoos were never my thing although my inner bicep is colored as part of my half sleeve. Ive seen a good amount of videos of yours. Is your chest piece the first colored one? Other thing I heard a lot is that tattoos expand over time and look kind of blown up. I got my first tattoo at 17 and 15 years later my tattoo looks pretty much the same.

I like the look of my healed tattoos. All American Traditional and colour. I like the drier look of them. That said, if i use a good quality tattoo balm then the colours pop again. There are lots of good brands of natural balm but that moisturizing will make a world of difference to the appearance. It's pretty surprising how much it does. Keep hydrated and moisturize and your tattoos will look their best. Also, the sun is a big issue. It's like a laser removal treatment. I go to Florida quite a bit. I make sure I use sunscreen consistently and cover up if the weather permits. I went last month and it was a bit cooler so I could wear long sleeves.

6 months is hardly enough time to really show the aging of a colored tattoo - especially 6 months during the winter.

I have a half sleeve colour realism tattoo from my wrist to my elbow. A trick I use whenever I go out into the sun, especially in summer, is to use a workout sleeve. You see lots of joggers and cyclists use them, and what it is for those that don't know, is a thin, breathable piece of fabric that blocks out the UV rays while still keeping your skin cool. Kind of like a breathable glove but for an arm or a leg. You can use sunscreen for when you swim or go to the beach, but I find the workout sleeves are really convenient and easy to use instead of using sticky sunscreen every single time you go out into the sun. Now, my Tattoo is still new, going to be a year old soon, so I haven't tested this out over the long term but I'm happy thus far with this trick. Even keep a spare in my car because you never know when you might need one....

It's all bullshit what people say about healed color realism tattoos turning into a blob, I'm living proof. I have one that's 11 years old that still has all of the detail.

I think any tattoos age horribly when in the sun too much. I have some colour on both my traditional Japanese sleeves mainly red, orange and some green but it hasn't really faded just more "settled". I wear long sleeves in 30 degree heat so that's probably why lol.

One little detail I suggest is to consider your skin undertone when you choose the colors your tattoo is going to have, warm undertone will help warmer colors & cold undertone will help cold colors

I am actually waiting on my colour tattoo to lose a bit of colour, cause I feel it’s a bit too vibrant, for what it supposed to be
One thing I absolutely hate seeing are colour tattoos without solid black outline where they just disappear into your skin, I think it’s such a bad look
