Just made this for dinner following the recipe in your cookbook! Absolutely delicious, I added sautéed mushrooms and it was really good. However I did boil the pork belly before hand like you did in the video which made it really juicy.
I must admit my family and I’s spice tolerance is nowhere near yours haha, I could only use a quarter of the gochugaru so it was more of an orange color, but still plenty spicy and delicious! Thanks so much!
Question: what kochugaru is best when making Budae jjigae? The powder type, or the coarse flake type? Is there a difference in result? Flavor? Thanks in advance! 😅
Ответитьbudae jigae goes back to the 70's, possibly earlier
ОтветитьFirst cool front here in September, I know what I am

The worst Korean food should these kind of army base stew. Fat, can food, instant noodles would ruin your health
ОтветитьI have followed since 2015 and I love rewatching everything and watching the new videos as they’re posted. I have dived into cooking past my culture and trying to recreated other countries dishes. Never fails, when it comes to Korean food, I know I can come here for an authentic, easy recipe! Your recipes ALWAYS turn out amazing and my family enjoys them so much! Thank you for sharing your recipes, experiences and short little stories about your life. You’re an amazing lady🫶. Happy belated Mothers Day! 🫶🫶
ОтветитьI love that she wasn't just teaching us how to cook this dish, but also showing us the culture & the way Koreans would enjoy it together
ОтветитьI watched this video, and Eric Kim’s NYT Cooking vid, back to back, and the variation between the two version is huge. I need to cook both! I bet I’ll love both, even though they are barely the same dish!
Ответитьshe is so cute!
ОтветитьThe addition of vegetarian baked beans makes me wonder if anyone has ever made a Full English version of this stew 😂 Maybe Sorted Food should make that a reality.
Ответитьhi maangchii :) i first started watching your videos during my first years of highschool so i could learn to cook when my parents werent home and years later i just made your budae jigae recipe while i take a break from writing my microbiology notes for university (using kimchi i learned to make from you :D) no idea how often comments left on older videos get seen by creators these days but its nice that i got to have my culinary learning experience shaped by such a kind and talented lady :)
ОтветитьThis dish is a 5 people meal 🔥
ОтветитьThis woman is a national treasure. Protect her at all costs. Wrap her in bubble wrap.😊
ОтветитьThis is amazing. To M, what a wonderful channel. Thank you for sharing your gift of cooking.
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful kitchen you have! 😍
ОтветитьI have to be soy-free, so will sub PUMFU vs Tofu (a soy free, pumpkin seed based Tofu), a soy-free soy sauce (Coconut Aminos) and the rest.
ОтветитьAll ingredients are good, but pork is forbidden, we are not allowed to eat it, but I will use chicken
ОтветитьExited to try this tomorrow!! I’m prepping the broth and rice tonight. The goal is to make this in 15 mins. Thank you Maangchi 🎃 Happy early Halloween 👻
ОтветитьAmong the recommendations were that, except on very rare occasions, people should avoid eating ham or other processed meats – bacon, hot dogs, sausage, salami, and pastrami. The report noted that once a person reached the weekly limit of 510 grams (18 oz) of red meat, for every 48 grams (1.7 oz) of processed meat consumed in a day, the risk of cancer increased by 21%. goes.

ОтветитьI just watched Chris Morocco try to recreate this from taste only on 'Reverse Engineering'. HAD to come see the OG make it herself!!! This is absolutely mouth-watering and I would love to try to make it. You make it look easy, Maangchi!!!!
ОтветитьI can’t handle too much spice but I’m ok with and really like kimchi, so I think I’ll add the kimchi and just a little bit of gochujang 😂🥵
ОтветитьWhere did the cheese go

ОтветитьI love your hair here, thank you for the video.

ОтветитьJust ate this in Sarawak, Malaysia.
ОтветитьI love her! This looks delicious 🤤❤️
ОтветитьI just made this for friends and even used the kelp as a side dish. My Asian friends loved it!!!! This a keeper.
ОтветитьSo yummy 😋 I will try to make it for my family thank you for sharing 👍♥️😊
ОтветитьYummy 😋
ОтветитьThis food is preferred by Koreans as a side dish with soju. However, I recommend eating it occasionally. Because it's a salt bomb.
ОтветитьDear Maangchi, I am doing this dish for second time. Last time I lacked some ingredients, and this time I have them, but I am lacking others (fortunately I am not lacking kimchi!). But, as I understand, the main idea of this recipe is to be inventive and make a delicious meal with what you have in hand, (as I think it happens with most korean recipes), so I will make my best to make family enjoy it. Thanks for the time you invest in us!
ОтветитьI have to be on the same side with Maangchi on those noodles. Pre-soak those goodies on a luke warm dish or tray even, just turn those around every now and then. Just thinking about my adventurous first dive into making a hotpot, making broth with bone stock, ordering my first 2-sided hotpot pan for doing this, getting my asian ingredients, prepping every ingridient...and now considering to do an anjovis and kelp stew for variety just warms me up. Your peppy mentality and up-beat tone keeps my attention high and motivated. Thank you, really.
ОтветитьWent to Walmart and saw○ K Army stew style noodle soup made by nongshim . It is packaged like a ramen soup. K for Korean! Haven't tried it yet. I would not have heard about this this type of stew had it not been for you thankyou!
ОтветитьDelicious, l can’t wait to try this but without the spam and the sausage. I perfer just the pork with more vegetables and noodles plus the cheese
ОтветитьTry it and it's delicious 🥰
