Yep. That's my family. WASP
ОтветитьAs a white Zimbabwean/Anglo-African of British stock, I am firecely proud of my Anglo-Saxon heritage. Proud of my British roots. 🇿🇼🤝🏻🇬🇧 🇿🇼🍻🇬🇧
ОтветитьI'm a stern believer that there existed an Ingvaeonic-Norse dialect continuum, and that perhaps the Angles, certainly the Jutes and, maybe even the Frisians, had a lot of Norse-like language features that got eroded away over time. Such a shame that we barely get any writing from these tribes, pre-migratiom era...
ОтветитьMy teacher forced me to watch this
Ответить"Anglo-Saxonism is the belief that the peoples of the British Isles and their descendants in the United States and the British Empire are inherently "superior" because of their qualities of courage, thrift, and most importantly - self-government."
ОтветитьI had always just assumed that the Angles were kick-ass fisherman.
ОтветитьThis should be "Who are the Anglo-Saxons", they are still referred as such in many languages today, and by Celts in Britain who have not been assimilated as English.
ОтветитьWhy do people hate the English so much ??
ОтветитьMy haplogroup I-z63 supposedly from england by way of Jutland/Northern Germany. Its odd I am mostly Irish, with a Norman surname and an Anglo-Saxon haplogroup LOL.
ОтветитьAmerican reactionaries and literal Neo-Nazis: America is an Anglo-Saxon nation!
The many MANY Celts who fled to America: Bruh
The relatively few Englishmen who came: Bruv
The Anglo-Saxons: *Extinct*
Me, this is what I say, "I'm Anglo Saxon and couldn't be prouder, if they can't hear me now, I'll yell a little louder and I do not owe anyone an explanation or an apology"
ОтветитьNo such thing as black Anglo Saxons
That's like me saying Zulus was white no such thing
Badarses, that’s who.
ОтветитьAngel was/is the area from Flensborg to Slien - the whole peninsula means narrow water
ОтветитьBARBARIANS
ОтветитьGreat video.
Through history and until this day Anglo-Saxons have been and still are a waring and conquering people. Just look at Europe throughout history and America today. Conquer, Rape and Pillage is in our DNA. Subjugating and ruling other people is in our blood. Come to think about it, we're actually the bully's and baddies
Man{g}e ( many, OE moneGe ! ) af {v}ore ( our, OE ure ! ) simple Danske (w)ord(s) er [air] (are) (Swe.) 'även' nu [noo*] (now) så [sO] nær [nair] de Engelske, (th)at en Engelsk-tal(k)ende person kan ofte se hvad mening de ha(ve)r efter just få [foa] ((a) few) sekunder.

Hav en god dag, alle mine [meen-e] Engelske frænd-er 😉
In Danish we still call a pair of scissors "en saks" because of the Saxon influence here.
ОтветитьDe kom fra os [us] - Southern Denmark & present day Northern Germany ( Jutland & Schleswig - Holstein / Slesvig - Holsten ).
"They ("dey") came from us"
So if the Anglo Saxons started off speaking the same language how is it that now the same people speak at least 3 different languages namely Dutch, German and Danish?
ОтветитьJutland had been conquered by the expanding Danes in the 5th Century and the Jutes largely assimilated to Danish identity. The remaining Jutes who retained a separate identity were a minority. Where they lived or gathered is anybody's guess. Hengest's following may have gathered the remaining Jutes who refused to assimilate with the Danes and founded Kent.
ОтветитьWhat's the use of mentioning the Zuiderzee that turned into the Ijsselmeer when it is not elaborated any further ? And there is a lot of "I believe", and "I think"......
ОтветитьCome on man if you were going to make an educational video you could at least draw some lines to explain what you are talking about
ОтветитьChads, that they are.
ОтветитьI'm already subscribbled
ОтветитьYou know I wish American history incorporated more English 🇬🇧 history because for me we are so close that I feel English
ОтветитьThe first 3 minutes were absolutely incoherent.
ОтветитьAccording to different sources, 45% of all English words have a French origin.[1]
ОтветитьI am German and a native Saxon from Westphalia northwest Germany I feel very much connected to England... they are our closest counterparts.... our natural partners Anglo-Saxon as we are one tribe... should stick together forget Brexit🏴🇩🇪❤️🤗
ОтветитьThey settled in sommerset england then spread out from there.
Ответить🙏🙏🙏
ОтветитьI suspect that place like.Wessex and Essex were named for their location, rather than the places where the Saxons came from.
ОтветитьYou forgot the Isle of White, it's named after King Witgar, a Jute. They settled the Isle of Wight too.
ОтветитьIJsselmeer isn't fresh water. It's a salt water lake.
ОтветитьYou sure do like fresians huh
ОтветитьNot far from York there is the village of Saxton which suggests an enclave of Saxons amid the Danish inhabitants, in a later era of the Danelaw
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьHello good video. Were all of the Anglo-Saxons German and does this mean that modern English people today have German genes? Thanks.
ОтветитьThe first time that you can be burnt out the door and she is a good 👍👍👍👍👍👍
